How to view Mac on PC network
My wife's office has 10 PC's on a network and she would like to add a Mac to the network. She would like some of the PC's on the network to be able to look at PDF files which would be in folders on the Mac computer. What software would she need to install to do this?
Thanks |

Go to System Preferences, click on the Sharing icon, and check off Windows Sharing.

adding on to cwtnospam's comment...
... after checking "windows sharing" make sure to click "Accounts" (at the bottom of the windows sharing window) and check the account you want xp users to use when accessing your mac. you will then see an address at the bottom of the windows sharing window which windows users can use to connect to your mac (i.e. \\10.0.1.3\admin). type this address into "map network drive" - an option from within windows explorer (not internet explorer) and select "connect with different user name" where you enter the MAC account user name and password.
hope this helps! |
