For my growing MP3 collection i have been (happily) using Tagscanner (xdev.narod.ru/tagscan_e.htm) a Windows only application.
Last May i migrated back to Apple (MBP) and have been searching for a similar application since. Right now I am using MS's Remote Desktop Connection to my old PC to rename MP3 tags, but obviously i am looing for a Mac OS X only solution. Can any one recommend a good (bulk) MP3 renamer? I have tried nearly all available through versiontracker, but still have not found the right one. Thanks! |

You need to explain (in detail) what was wrong with each of the programs you have tried so far. Otherwise people will waste time suggesting things that you have tried.

For needs going beyond iTunes capabilities, the most versatile tagger I'm aware of is MP3Rage/MediaRage from chaotic software.

What i miss most, is the ability to load one folder and rename at once tags such as year, album art, album title, artist, comments and such. Most application i have used require you to do this one by one.
Why i do not primarily use iTunes for this is that i like to have the ability to edit albums before they enter into iTunes' library. Hope this explains a little. |

You can do that both in iTunes (unless you import .ogg files) and with the software I suggested.

Did anyone find a good scanner on a mac to replace Tagscanner already?
I'm having the same issue. For djing i keep al the burn cd's in a separate folder and rename the file names as well as the mp3 tags nicely. i enter an album name and then store it for future purposes (missing or broken cd) In future i want to go all itunes, but first i want have my whole collection formatted nice.. i'm using a virtual windows with fusion for downloading with soulseek, placing- and sorting it per folder, renaming file&id3 with tagscanner and then burn a disc and make a cover! Also in the purpose to make good cd-text cd's for Pioneer CDJ1000! I hope anyone can find/or has some good mac/os x software to do mp3 id3- and file renaming! Grtz |
