Mouse driver

I have a problem with my McAlly mouse "driver".
Every once in a while it seems to "forget" it's settings.

This makes that in for example Opera, when I use mouse movements, they don't work.
The scrolling speed also changes to something I don't like.

Is there something like a generic mouse "driver" that will work for any 2 button mouse with scroll wheel?

OS X will deal with just about any 2 button mouse with a scroll wheel without any software.
