See other IP's on my LAN in 10.3?

Jaguar's "Connect to Server" window used to show me the IP address of the computer I was connecting to. How to I see IP addresses of other computers on my network in Panther?

I'm not exactly clear if this is the answer that you want or not, but a port scanner will certainly tell you that. For example, if you've got nmap installed on your computer (or the free NmapFE for OSX, available for download on MacUpdate and Versiontracker), then you can do a scan such as
nmap -sP -PE -v -T5 192.168.0.*

Of course, use your particular subnet instead of 192.168.0.*. This will quickly ping every machine on your subnet and tell you what IPs are up and which are down.

Thanks for the info! I'm disappointed though that it's so much more inconvenient than Jaguar. But atleast now I can get it done.

Well, for convenience, there's also Finder > command-K (which is the same as Connect to Server) > click the "Browse" button.

Or you can always ping the broadcast address for your subnet. In the case mentioned by trevor: "ping 192.168.0.255".

Trevor, you must be using Jaguar. In Panther Command-K will connect to another server but at no point will it reveal the IP address of that server.

try to rename the Icons with the IP after the name, not the best solution but it would work.

Nope, I'm on Panther, I just don't have any other computers on my subnet at this moment to check out. Sorry, poor research on my part.
