Printing from iPad?

Why is it so hard to set this up?
I've got a wireless Fuji Xerox printer (DP205FW).
There is indeed a Fuji Xerox app...but this printer isn't working on this app.
So what else is there to do?
I've read somewhere about installing AirPrint manually on the printer.

I had to download and then:
Copy file urftopdf to location /usr/libexec/cups/filter/
Copy file apple.convs to location /usr/share/cups/mime/
Copy file apple.types to location /usr/share/cups/mime/

But I can't find these folders anywhere on my Mac.

Any help is much appreciated.

And yes, the iPad is jailbroken, in case it will help.

On your Mac:
Your listed folders (usr/libexex/cups/filter/) and others, are on your hard drive.
They are normally hidden folders - part of the installed OS X system.
You can make them visible with a terminal command, or using one of the system utilities that allows you to make hidden folders visible (such as OnyX, or TinkerTool, etc)
Or, simply go to the Finder, and choose the Go menu, then Go to Folder, where you can simply enter the path to the folder (/usr/libexec/cups/filter/ - or one of the others.) and you'll see the folder where you need to copy the needed files.

AirPrint Activator is one of the easiest methods of sharing any printer to iOS devices and other Macs.

I was originally using the hack of modifying the cups files, but under Lion this wasn't working for me.

Hi again and thanks for your replies.
Yes, Onyx did indeed reveal the hidden files.

I forgot to mention that I'm trying to set the iPad and printer up, with no other laptop.
So only iPad and printer.
The solutions I've seen until now, all require you to have a laptop running as well.

I think you need to change to an AirPrint-enabled printer

The printer itself has to support AirPrint. If it doesn't, there is nothing you can do.

Yes that is correct, you will need a printer which supports airprint.
