Lion Mac Mail remembering flagged Junk Mail
I have thought that when I flag a message as Junk in the Inbox of Mac Lion an email from that sender will be remembered as Junk.
Mac Mail is not remembering messages flagged as Junk and email keeps reappearing in the Inbox from that sender. How do I flag a message as Junk where Mail remembers it. Isn't that the way it is suppose to work. Thanks |

Flagging one message as Junk - means that one message is then junk. It doesn't necessarily mean that future messages from that sender will always in the future be labeled as Junk - but you can continue to mark items as Junk, and Mail will learn from that.
From your Mail Help:
Note that there are settings in your Mail preferences to handle Junk in a way that is more to your liking. For example, the default is that a previous recipient, or one that is already in your address book, would not be junk mail. Train Mail by marking mail as Junk, or Not Junk. Over time, you will get the results that you want. Mail that you receive more often, will get sorted out more quickly as you train it. If you find that Junk mail continues not to sort properly, then you can hit the reset button, again in Mail Preferences, which will remove everything Mail has learned about what you consider to be junk mail, and you would do that process again. You can also turn on advanced settings in the Junk Mail tab, to give you more detailed control over what you consider Junk. |
