System Font Problem

As of the upgrade to 10.7.3 (Combo Updater), system dialog boxes have showed up with arabic script in them like the example below. Is there a fix for this?

My memory is that someone else had this issue recently, but I can't seem to find anything when I search. First thing I would try is trashing the font caches. I do it with Onyx, but I'm certain there are other ways it can be done.

Wow, safe mode takes quite a while; first to reboot with all that flushing going on, then for a new restart with the now empty caches. Gives you some appreciation for the value of caching to a speedy startup.

Thanks all. I think that's done it.
