That's disappointing. They have like 17 albums/EPs listed in the Aus store.

Just had a listen to that track and it's not really representative of their work being a remix of a cover of an Echo and the Bunnymen track.

Wow.
They were huge here in the 90's, all over the radio. They were all kids back then too, so we thought it was bizarre they played so well.

My first thought when I saw how young Silverchair were back then was ... "who is really playing those instruments?" ... but credit where credits due ... Daniel Johns is one brilliant songster and vocalist/guitarist ;)

I still really love their first single too; "Tomorrow" from Frogstomp ..

I was shocked to hear that Daniel Johns was beaten up so much back in those days, for being the front person in a seriously popular band ...

Had to post this due to its time-limited nature... but

I went to Amazon and had a listen to the samples ... sounded interesting!

Amazon: "Ah Via Musicom"

Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover - YouTube

Totally awesome tone and technique! Me like ;)

This is also worth a look:

So it's been a while since I posted this question. Anyone come across these tracks since then?

Track 1 excerpt
Track 2 excerpt

Still can't remember who they are. No hits searching on the lyrics either.

My best guess would be Midnight Oil...

Not at all familiar. If it were Christian, maybe so :p

Another unhelpful response. It reminds me of music I was listening to in the late '80s and early-to-mid 90's, but I'm not sure if it's familiarity or just nostalgia. I hope somebody can provide the answer, because now I want to know.
