Actually I am just going to say my whole record collection, otherwise my post would be way too large, and I haven't even hit my jazz, blues, or hip hop collection yet.

Almost any blues.
Almost any classic jazz (none of this new fandangled stuff).
Phish
Dave Matthews
Tragically Hip

Guitar-based rock and boogie blues. Anything appropriate for a child that survived "the summer of love".

And, I'll take the opportunity to cast my vote for the new Genius feature of iTunes! I don't know how it makes up its 25 song selections, but it's good. I'm listening to songs I forgot I owned. Much better than just whacking 11,000 songs on random play. Top marks.

Tragically Hip! Am I the only person outside Canada who's heard that band? I stumbled across their "Fully Completely" album in a bargain bin and wondered why they weren't much more popular. I was reminded of them when I saw the post above and checked out their website. They've released about 10 albums since, but don't list any tour dates. I thought I'd try and buy "Yer Favourites" a compilation album, but my online music seller doesn't even list any Tragically Hip. Good band.

shufflebear 11-14-2008 08:27 AM

Prefab Sprout - Steve McQueen
Stars- Set yourself on Fire
The Clash - London Calling
Billy Bragg & Wilco - Mermaid Avenue

I could go on.:)

cwtnospam 11-14-2008 08:34 AM

The Dixie Chicks - partly because I think it's un-American to take part in a boycott because somebody exercised their first amendment rights.

aehurst 11-14-2008 10:30 AM

Ray Charles! All of it.

The past few years, my favorite album has been Bob Marley's Live at the Roxy.

Even though Marley didn't make my list (mainly because I have to be in the mood for reggae so I didn't think it qualified as music I never tire of) I do have a lot of his albums. I'd say Survival is my favourite. I love that if you listen to any particular musician in Marley's music they play a fairly minimalistic part but it comes together so well to create a complex whole.

Skyhooks - Living In The 70's

I notice in the above post that BidDave never tires of listening to The Tubes by The Tubes

... well I never tire of listening to anything released by the Tubes from their debut release up to and including "The Completion Backwards Principle" ...

BigDave 01-15-2009 09:02 AM

Too right, VT!
In fact I recently went on a huge nostalgia jag and watched Fee and the others strut their stuff on YouTube. Worth a look! Saw them in London as a teen - they were fantastic!

VirtualTracy 01-15-2009 09:08 AM

I bought their "What Do You Want From Live" Double LP way back in 1975 or 76, I can't remember ... but I loved it so much I bought every other LP up until The Completion Backwards Principle ... the release prior to that; Remote Control is a gem IMHO but Completion Backwards was the beginning of the end, in my books .... You are very lucky to have seen them live ... I don't know if they ever came to Aust ... YouTube is great for stuff of the nostalgic type ... BTW, they have an official MySpaceMusic page and I wonder if you have been to it, or if you recognise the live songs they have up ... I listened to them the other day and the sound of the music was great and I even heard a song I'd never heard before that I liked, called the Weebee Dance or something ..

RenaMariee 01-21-2009 12:57 AM

I might be the only 18 year old in existance to admit to listening to Billy Joel. And to admit that I could never tire of him. :]

Queen as well. And Johnny Cash. Oh, and to be honest, I cannot get sick of Eminem either.

Mielke 01-31-2009 04:57 AM

I was checking iTunes for this album and was surprised to see an Eno album for the price of a single track. Turns out the album (Neroli) only has one track. The fact that it goes for 58 minutes seems to be irrelevent :).

Funny, Thursday Afternoon is also a single track but that is AU$17.99? You pay AU$16.30 for an extra two minutes.

Marlboro Man 05-14-2009 12:38 AM

Almost my entire collection, about 350 gb. Everything from Ella Fitzgerald (love me some Ella) to the Sex Pistols, from Johnny Cash to Jaco Pastorius...

But.... I am a Deadhead to the core.

I bought Neroli. Very ambient keyboard. Made for a rather eerie soundtrack while I was searching info on POW camps in Ambon.
