This is the first time, in a long time, that I have been this excited about the release of a game. For those of you who have not been to the site and a seen the trailer... Mac and PC simultaneous release! Blizzard, I love you!

now...err what is diablo out of interest? Is it an rts like starcraft or what?
Im guessing ill need a new imac to run the damn thing, but that CG trailer looked sooo awesome in hd!!

You beat me to it. I am going to go pick up a copy of Diablo 2 battle chest today after work to get some practice in.

Oh you youngin's, never taking the time to understand the classics... ;).

Diablo is an Action RPG (meaning it isn't turn based). If you want to know what it's all about, I would highly recommend going out and grabbing Diablo 2 and giving it a go. The reason Diablo is amazing is because the game is so diverse, and so fast paced and yet Blizzard managed to make it balanced and fun. It's just a great game...

get a job! How old are you again? When I was a teenager I had all kinds of toys and video games because I had whole pay checks go to that stuff

15..the only job i can think off is really doing a paper round, but there are already loads of people doing those :confused:

I had my first job at the age of 14....and really honestly at the age of 12 if you want to count me working with my Dad during the summers.

There are plenty of things you could do for money. Heck, I know kids that over here in the states, go around their neighborhoods setting up wireless networks and doing back ups and things like that and charge like $50 per a job, which is dirt cheap since every other place charges per an hour.

There is also the service industry. Restaurants will pretty much hire anyone.

the thing is i know if i get money, id spend it straight away on crap that i dont really need. I only want the odd game here and there. cba getting a job, i wanna enjoy summer :). Besides for the next 2 and a bit years the government are gonna be giving me £30 a week

Honestly though, think of it this way. Any money you spend on random crap is helping to drive the economy. So really, you're doing your country a favor by supporting your local gaming store :).

well I bought diablo 2 after work... Installing it now, and it is actually the first game I have ever purchased for my mac.....well it is dual platform but I am installing it on my G5 desktop.

So battlenet here I come for a second time. My original Diablo 2 CD set has the 2nd CD missing....so I had to buy a new one.

Blizzard launched a digital download service, where you can redownload games you already purchased. All you do is register, enter your CD-key, and download!

The shipping to the UK would probably cost more than the game itself....

You could always ask your aunt, Torra Kent to get you a copy. :D

I just found out that there is a petition out there demanding that Blizzard change the direction that it's art work is taking in Diablo 3 because it's not "dark" enough....

You know, we used to petition the heads of despotic nations begging them to please stop the torture, maiming and violent deaths. Now we petition video game companies because the shade of green they are using isn't to our liking. I don't know if I agree or disagree with this precedent, but it sure makes you think...

Speaking of thinking, I'm thinking of starting a counter petition because, quite frankly, I like the new art direction. It reminds me of Baldurs Gate II, which is my favorite game of all time. And how on earth could I hate a game that takes the tone and action of the Diablo series and combines it with one of the prettiest games of all time? How could anyone? Bunch of purest...

Edit: And I must have been board because I made the counter petition.

But she would probably give you a banned CD-key with it...

Felix_MC, while you may find it funny to talk about stealing software, the people who put years of time into writing that software probably don't find it funny at all. I also suspect that the software companies who hesitate to enter the Mac market because of software piracy are not laughing very hard. And the other Mac gamers who pay for their software? Not chortling with amusement.

In any event, this forum is not the place for software piracy humor.

For some reason, it isn't liking my MacBook + Leopard. It crashes instantly. I have to reboot into Windows to play it.

Edit: My petition has 28 signatures at the moment! Making it the most successful think I've ever done in the web in my entire life! ;). I f you guys know anyone else who wants to sign it, tell them and tell them to tell their friends.

Yahoo recently posted a video about the whiners...For some reasons it's real news now. So, I'm here telling people to tell everyone to sign my petition. Remember, my petition specifically asks everyone on the internet to make fun of all the people who are whining (about a game that's two years from finishing development...)

PS- And to make one final point, the main argument is that petitioning against something that isn't even out yet is...kind of silly.
