Coat Room Stats
 

So, every now and then I do a google check for my screen name, because I'm curious about if someone else is using it, or perhaps I want to see if I used my screen name on anything else (okay, in reality it's because my real name produces no hits that actually relate to me, and I like seeing my name all over the internet...)

Anyway, I was doing this very activity when I found an interesting site. The site is called board reader, and it does profiles of random pages it seems. And these are the stats for the coat room. I thought perhaps you guys would like to see it :).

perhaps the list should read 'who has to much free time' instead of 'Top authors during last week'

I usually quit or get banned from a forum long before I reach my 500th post. I wanna see if I can break that habit ;)

Well, I have like 20 more posts to go, and I don't I'm anywhere close to getting banned (unless the mods are plotting something against me :p)
The #1 reason I get banned is spamming, and I haven't done a lot of that on these forums:rolleyes:.. I think:confused:

He better get posting then. By my calculations he needs about 820 posts to catch up to you and about 1400 to catch tlarkin ( that's total not additional ).

Yikes I need about 3235 posts to catch up to you and about 5547 posts to catch up to tlarkin. I have to make up for the two years that elapsed between first registering and coming here more regularly.

lol, in my defense, I was gone for 3 whole months last summer which brought down my post/day rate :p
Also, this was about coat room posts, not overall forum posts ;)

how do you work that one out?

If you takes the total # of posts and divided it by the time you've been a member you would get the 'posting rate'.
For example, I've been a member for exactly 1 year and 4 days and have exactly 500 posts (not including this one). If you divide 500 by 369 (the # of days I've been a member) you'd get 1.35501...
If you looked in my profile, you'd see the same thing under my 'posts per day' :)
If I wanted to know how many posts I need to get my posting rate to 2.0 let's say, I'd multiply 2 by the number of day's I've been a member, and I would get 738. That would mean if I had 738 posts at the end of today, my posting rate would be 2.0.
You get the drift, right? ;)

geez, i thought i was good at math, well i get it, but i dont see how it determines where you will be on a weekly leaderboard...

Sooo it's summer... and I have nothing to do during the week... and I was thinking about this threat and how to calculate how many posts I need to acquire a certain 'posting rate'... and I came up with an equation... which evolved into a small C++ program... which evolved into a full fletched Cocoa Application... So if ya don't like calculating the frequency and posts needed using paper and pencil, you can Download the app here :D

Can you write me a program that will reach out and slap me when I'm wasting too much time on this forum? Also I'd like to be able to activate it remotely so I can send it to my more annoying clients and slap them when they ask one too many stupid questions.

I tried to pull this one in under 5 minutes, so it didn't come up that great, but would this do? :D
