It's spring-break!! ..and I'm bored to death..

Well, the title pretty much explains it all.. It's finally springbreak, and I've got nothing to do.. My current routine is eat, sleep, watch Rock of Love, or wtv else is on tv, check out these forums like every 15 minutes (:)), occasionally go on YouTube to see if my subscriptions put on any new vids.. Maybe make some crooked pics of my sister in photoshop (like this one..lol), or do some programming until I hit a dead end and quit..
Since I just moved to a new town about 2 weeks ago, i don't really know where stuff is.. I went to the movies yesterday with another romanian dude that lives around here (there's quite a large romanian community in the US, :p), and saw Cloverfield, awesome movie, even though the ending kinda stunk.. But I can't go to the movies everyday..
I talk to girls from my new school on AIM sometimes, but they're not on 24/7.. I text message occasionally to people, but I'm not a big fan of it, not on that small keyboard, lol:p..
There's nothing much else to do around here.. my dad's at work until 5 PM, so I can't go anywhere out of the house until then.. Any ideas of productive and/or fun stuff to do..? I'll take anything:o:D..
Thanks for reading this ;)

Lol, Virginia is pretty big, and there are a lot of parks around where I live, especially since the city is surrounded by the Appalachian mountains on almost all sides.. But then again, I have no one to drive me there, and my dad is usually too tired when he gets home from work.. I'll try to get him to drive me there sometimes this week maybe :p..
Thanks for the suggestion ;):)
I'll ask my dad tomorrow if he has time.. It's already 8:00 PM here, so all it's left in my schedule is mac & sleep:rolleyes:..

One of the good things about Melbourne is we have a pretty good network of bike tracks. You can pretty much follow the river into the city.

Lol, I miss my old bike, but unfortunately I out-grown it, and don't have enough cash for a new one.. Saving for a new Mac-Book.. only $1,830 more to go.. I need to get a job :D.. I don't think my allowance will cut it..

fazstp 03-24-2008 09:52 PM

Slightly OT but I wonder what happens to a laptop if you strap it to the rack on the back of your bike. I was contemplating this the other day when it took me 3 freaking hours to get home from work 40km away. I was going nuts. I set the odometer and an hour later I'd done just over 2km. It was the friday before a long weekend and we had a traffic meltdown.

Jay Carr 03-24-2008 11:25 PM

I'd give my left arm to have a Spring Break (we don't have one at BYU), so you won't get any sympathy from me ;). Want my advice? Sleep the entire time. It won't be as fun, but you might feel rested by the end of the week.

kel101 03-25-2008 05:04 AM

omg that picture of your sister is so harsh :d

well since we're the same age (sorta i think im a year older) i guess im in the same boat
I have a french gcse coming up (big exam) and a lot of other work that i really need to start, but i really cba. So i just play call of duty on my ps3 :) and half life 2 deathmatch on xp, oh and i watch a hell of a lot of tv, there is always something good on, (especially late night, thats when all the best adult films come on....:p like scarface was on last night :d, ....what did you think i was talking about. :O

Yea, I think I might do some of that.. Last night I stayed up until 11 talking to this girl on AIM, and then I watched Night at the Museum (which was pretty cheesy) until like 12:30, and then I went to sleep. Today I woke up at exactly 10:00 AM, which means I slept almost 10 hours, more than I ever sleep during school time!! Perhaps I would have slept more if it weren't for my 3 year old sister who woke me up so she can watch south park on my iPod..lol:p
I think tonight I'm going to take kel101's advice and watch some R rated movies.. like the Hills have Eyes II, or whatever else there's on at that time:rolleyes:...
I would play Halo during the day, but recently smoke started coming out of my Xbox 360 (guess I was playing too much, and it over-heated), and now it doesn't work.. My dad shipped it to some place to get it fixed, I think the fan needs to be replaced or something..
I too have a Latin test and some other minor hw, but I'll do those on Sunday at around 10:00 PM.. lol;)

Jay Carr 03-25-2008 10:25 AM

If you want to see a movie that is a bit mind blowing, go check out Hero. Great movie about the ancient Qin empire of China. And no, it's not nearly as boring as it sounds. It's made by the same guy that did Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (but Hero actually makes complete sense).

Also, I think you should spend as much time as you can finding old rap on the net and giving it a listen (I say this because I was just listening to Run DMC.) Just random things to do, eh?

PS- Just because I am giving you suggestions doesn't mean I have sympathy for you suddenly ;).

And your xbox seems to have rrod, which will keep happening unless you buy the new falcon chipset models. My advice get a ps3 :)

Hero is an amazing film, so is fearless and anything thats jet li from the last 8 years. I would reccomend any "old" film and im sure zalister would agree, (not that your old or anything) so anything like scarface, godfather, bad boys (ok thats not that old but still, good film)

There are some other things that i could recommend but the mods would ban me haha :rolleyes:

Apple has a technology called SMS (sudden motion sensor) that is suppose to reduce the risk of anything being damaged from sudden motion. Working with over 5000 macbooks, i would say that it works, but not always.

Go outside, meet people, find a party. it is spring break and you are what, 15 years old? Man you have no responsibilities now in your life at all, so go out and enjoy yourself before you have to get a job, pay rent/mortgage, utilities, taxes, so on and so forth.

If its spring break there are definitely things going on with people your age. That is what I did, and I had a blast as a teenager, probably too much fun. In fact all my aunts and uncles think I am a bad influence on my younger cousins because I tell them to go out and party. When my cousin got married last year I was encouraging my 18 year old other cousin to drink and my Aunt was kind of pissed at me, lol.

Oh well, she got over it.

kel101 03-25-2008 02:13 PM

lol yeah party, just dont do what photek did as a teen... *cough acid* :D

Jay Carr 03-25-2008 02:15 PM

Yeah, you always have to be careful that whatever fun you have doesn't make it so you can't have fun down the road. But I think that you have to judge those situations on a case by case basis.

Last I checked though watching movies and sleeping can't screw you up too much, and those were my suggestions, so I'm not feeling guilty right now.

Sorry, I automatically hate people with spring breaks, it's just how it goes ;). Right now I'm working an obscene amount of time for my Apple Campus Rep job while trying to prepare for all my final projects in the semester...joyousness... Tell you what though, when I'm out for summer in a mere three weeks, you all can despise me all you want to :p.

I don't know about Rap, but yesterday I found some of my parents' old CD's, entitled "MTV '88 hits" and "Best of '95".. Though the music sounds weird, some of the tunes by CC Catch are actually "enjoyable".. There's also Boney M and Abba that sounded alright.. LOL :D

Or is it the wrong kind of movie to go out and see with a girl?
What kind of movie do girls like, lol:rolleyes:?

I have to write a letter to a Roman Senator in Latin, and to study for a latin test.. but I can always do those at the last minute :p
I would help you with your essay, but I've never heard of that play b4, sorry :o

So now I'm off to another "exciting" day of chatting on AIM and MySpace.. Maybe I'll even get a date for the weekend ;)

Latin? You studying to be a doctor someday?

Also, be very weary of facebook, their privacy policies are very scary. Read through them and know your rights, or should I say, lack of rights when using their site.

Sincerely, I haven't got the slightest idea of what I wanna be when I "grow up", so I'm trying to get myself exposed as many different "fields" as possible. I'm deciding between a science and a computer oriented career.. Maybe I could combine them?

I noticed the lack of right and I don't even like Facebook that much, MySpace is way better :p, though they all have their issues..lol ;)

tlarkin 03-26-2008 09:51 AM

Yeah Latin helps in science and in medical, any other field you are better off knowing a language that is actually spoken today, that way you can always communicate with foreigners. I think being able to speak Spanish or Chinese (mandarin or cantonese) would be most beneficial in the USA as of right now. China is going to be a major player in world economics soon, and speaking their language would definitely give you an edge on a career. Of course chinese is super hard to learn, as well as most asian languages are.

Well I speak English & Romanian.. Isn't that enough:D?
And I do speak french.. like 5 words.. And I know how to say "I like cheese" in spanish.. :p

tlarkin 03-26-2008 10:22 AM

Me gusto caeso!

kel101 03-26-2008 10:37 AM

j'naime pas francais mais i have to do it... spanish is easier, but alas i dont like learning languages...

I dont get myspace, facebook etc, well i get facebook, but i dont use it, and myspace is just a glorified chatroom no? I only use amsn, and i was forced to get aim because them american girls insist on using it :D If anything i use youtube as a social networking site, and i dont post videos, and i made some good friends, if you know what i mean... :)

Personally, i read off my imac, technology these days, its amazing what you can read about, but i feel we're going of on a tangent that some people may find offensive, and suggest that if we carry it on we do it on ichat or msn etc
