The Geography Game!

http://www.travelpod.com/traveler-iq...dEndGameButton

A great game. test your knowledge in geography!

NovaScotian 01-29-2008 08:18 AM

It is neat. I did pretty well, too, considering that some of the locations are rather small on my screen.

specter 01-29-2008 09:15 AM

I think I didn't get farther than level 6... Some locations are pretty difficult for me, especially the Island ones!

Jay Carr 01-29-2008 02:14 PM

Ouch, I only got to 27,000 or so, I really felt like I should have done better. Guess I'll need to sit up with the Atlas, eh?

ArcticStones 01-29-2008 02:45 PM

.
That’s bloody difficult. Great find!
Completed level 10, 366450 points total.

Mikey-San 01-29-2008 02:57 PM

What are all of these weird looking countries that aren't in America? Surely they don't really exist.

tlarkin 01-29-2008 03:13 PM

198,763 pts for me got all the way up to level 6

As someone once said: "America is the greatest planet on earth!" (DQ)
That’s almost presidential material...

NovaScotian 01-29-2008 05:23 PM

349,039 on second try!!

Jay Carr 01-29-2008 09:14 PM

Oh, good gravy, I put down the wrong score last time. 27,000 was what I got in the 6th round. I don't know what I got the first time, but the second time I got a very respectable 203,947. I need to brush up on my world capitals...I've got most of Europe and the Americas, but Africa and the Islands are killing me.

Edit: Okay, second try, with a little more concentration: 375,568 on lvl 10. Not bad for an American eh?

fazstp 01-29-2008 09:27 PM

Wow, I suck. Didn't help me placing Boston somewhere in Africa.

11984 and didn't pass level 1 :o

Ok, got a slightly more respectable 96,525 level 4.

ThreeDee 01-29-2008 09:47 PM

173,879 first round
199,587 second round

If I played a bit more, I would probably get a higher score.

nikopolidis 01-30-2008 05:10 AM

6th stage is my best result for now. :o Not so good I think. Great game! :) Enjoy it much! I guess it would help me to know geography better! ;) I think this game is good for geography exam! They should implement it in schools and get income from selling it!

As Britney Spears once said: "And where's Australia? Ah, nevermind, who cares about the countries that are not America!"

I'm glad you like the game. Actually I didn't find it myself, one of my friends showed it to me.

GavinBKK 01-30-2008 06:43 AM

183k first attempt. Up to level 6.:(

GavinBKK 01-30-2008 06:55 AM

373k second attempt, level 10. Still crap.:(

NovaScotian 01-30-2008 09:47 AM

My big problem with it is the small size of some of the country images -- hard to locate the cursor quickly in them.

specter 01-30-2008 10:07 AM

yep, I'd also prefer the map to be a bit bigger. On the other hand, It is so easy to find any location in Greece, for example=)

Yeah, I'm really starting to like it when they mention any country in Eastern Europe :).

ps--394,376-- just a a little more work and maybe I can break 400k.

Made it a bit hard to find Easter Island though. Just took a wild stab in the Pacific.

Speaking of which, Christmas Island is close to the North Pole, is it not?

:p You'll be happy to know that I have gotten quite a few points for Oslo each time it comes up.

My only complaint so far is that it tends to run the same ones over and over again, well, at least on the easier levels...I guess that's why they are easy :). But hey, it's gotten me to 402,000 now :p. (Yes, I am far too proud of myself.)

That’s not fair!
When I click Texas for Paris, and Georgia for Athens, I’m told I missed by an ocean and a continent. But I’m positive I remember my American History & Geography lessons correctly!

Jay Carr 01-31-2008 03:20 AM

And here I was, proud of myself for knowing one city in Norway...

As for me, I click on Finland when they ask Norway, and then on Sweden. This was pretty informative, though. Now I don't make any mistakes

nikopolidis 02-01-2008 06:17 AM

I wonder who will be the first to pass all 12 rounds in this game... ;)
We could definitely name him geographic genius! He must be proud of that! :)

johngpt 02-02-2008 10:41 PM

Wish I could say it was the tiny image which made it so difficult for me.
