iCommune

I have successfully managed to stream mp3s from my iMac to my iBook right out of iTunes using a package called iCommune. It works fine on my home network using the url http:
http://192.168.1.2/~jamesk/Music

Now I want to do this over ssh connection using ssh's port forwarding

I did:
ssh -L 80:68.x.x.x:80 68.x.x.x -l jamesk

then used url in iTunes of:
http://localhost:80/~jamesk/Music.
to connect to my end of the ssh tunnel.

This should work...but dosn't.
anyone have any suggestions?

Please don't discuss the distribution of illegal software packages on the boards. iCommune was removed due to its violations of Apple's developer's license.

If you wish to speak to a forum participant in private, please try the private messaging and/or email links at the bottom of each post.

Due to the litiguous nature of today's society, I would rather not risk a phone call from an attorney regarding the site's content -- I don't have the time or money for a discussion over the legal merits of free speech vs. the internet :-).

sorry

My initial posting was made prior to hearing about the issue between Apple and iCommune's programmer.

Don't sweat it (either of you!); I tend to be a bit proactive to anything that might get undue attention -- I just really don't have the resources nor desire to speak to an attorney over anything on the site ;-).

This is an interesting article about iCommune's demise.

RIAA sounds like a modern day McCarthy.
