|
Did you try searching for "cider game"?
Assuming you haven't found it yet... |
|
thanx lots
|
Just so you're aware:
Cider doesn't let you run any Windows game on your Mac; it's an environment you port the Windows title to. |
huh?????? im totaley not a techie i just heard that i could play pc games on a mac with cider, is there any free way to play pc games on a mac?????????????
|
Boot Camp.
Also, is it so hard to write coherent posts? This ain't GameFAQs. |
i dont want to buy winxp aka im 14 and dont have a job so i said any free way to run windows APPS not os
|
Basically, Cider is a piece of technology that you use to port a game from Windows to Mac OS X. It's not something that can run any Windows app out of the box.
Boot Camp IS a way to run Windows apps for free, provided you have Windows. If you don't have Windows, and therefore can't use Boot Camp, you simply aren't going to get amazing performance from modern 3D titles. If you want games this badly--I have seen you in the other thread--perhaps an Xbox 360 might be a good addition to the Christmas haul this year. (I'm not being sarcastic here.) |
I SAID JUST APPS DOSENT ANYBODY LISTEN HERE OH AND A FREE APP pls

well not all xbox games are shitty so yeah i guess but i still want to play warrock so bad i feel like my head is going to explode |
blueballs. I realize you're only 14, but if you want to be accepted here, you must at least act mature. This is not the place to find free programs, nor is it the place to find out how to steal software.
If you have a problem with your Mac OS X Applications, Hardware or Operating System, this is the place to ask. It also helps to write your questions in English. This is not a chat room. We don't use chat terms. |

dude i dont want to pirate windows i just want to play warrock for free oh you better not accuse me of trying to get warrock warez its a free mutyplayer game check it out www.warrock.net
|
I did not use the term warez (I never do). If you want to find games and free software search through Version Tracker, Sourceforge and TuCows. This isn't the place to find them.
Since Warrock is a Windows game, it requires Windows. It won't run on a Mac. |
thats where apps like cider come in ok GOD THE OLDER THEY GET THE SLOWER THEY GET THEY AS IN YOU PEOPLE
|
ok fine where is a place where i can get a really cheap windowsxp sp2 please help

Let me break it down for you. I had a pc i played a lot of games, i got a mac, i couldnt play any of my games, i downloaded bootcamp, thats the only way to play windows games on a mac, its cheap and free, but you do need a copy of xp or vista, YOU NEED WINDOWS TO PLAY WINDOWS GAMES. Its a sorry reality, we all wish it was different but it isnt. Cider is only telling you of some games that have made the transition. If you want a cheap version of xp or vista, look on ebay or look for oem versions of it |

That sort of incivility is not tolerated here. If you continue this type of behaviour, you will be banned from the forums. And by the way, you still seem not to understand that Cider is not an "app" - it is a development tool (for use by programmers, not by end-users). Quote:
More generally, note that before you post here, it is expected that you have already googled for solutions to your problems - and you should explain what info you have already found, what you have tried, what results you got, etc. A one line post asking for help is almost always wrong (doesn't meet the above requirements). |

Cider IS an App! It is the Mac version of Cedega (for running Windows games on Linux). It's an compatibility engine App that developers can wrap an EXE into and then it mostly mostly translates calls to DirectX components (Direct3D,DirectSound,DirectInput, etc.) into Mac system calls. It apparently is based on the free WINE (Wine Is Not an Emulator) which is also the basis of CrossOver and CrossOver Games. It does not work with all games, but many people have been using it to get certain Windoze games running on Intel based Macs without installing windows! Many official ports are starting to use it instead of making a 'real' Mac version. Also, some hackers are using it to make unofficial ports. FarCry, GTA, NFS Most Wanted, I know have been unofficially ported.
