What is it about post counts that makes people think they're desirable? I'm of the opinion that post counts are useless. So why would you feel the need to boost your count?

I don't know either; there's about a million other places on the web that thrive on nonsense. We try really hard to not be one of those.

Still, I suppose there's no harm in a little fun thread.

To those who are offended by this thread… I posted this thread in response to an accidental post that caused a little bit of humor in another thread in the coat room (I won’t link to it because its rather inconsequential)… Speaking only from my own meager understanding of the mind and people I presumed to make the connection between people and a forum or the like… I look at it like this people have a sense of belonging and post count reflects on that i.e. it speaks of a level of commitment and general seniority or the appearance there of… Not that any of this matters but to some this silly feeling exists… I just decided to play with it… I meant no harm really… To anyone offended I apologize sincerely… I’m sorry for this diatribe, but for the sake of the professional people here I felt it was necessary…

Obviously dodging no political flak here but you guys should check this out.

The reason that post counts are important here is because there is a wide, nearly insurmountable chasm between "Triple-A Player" and "Major Leaguer." I mean, how long do we have to wallow in the minors before we finally make the Show? I'm betting 250 posts.

I do so wish to be a Major Leaguer, but time and the posession of a life limit my post count severely. This thread, therefore, is a boon to my ambitions. Yes, yes, very welcome indeed.

...And now I'm one post closer! Major Leagues, here I come!
