Recommend some music
I am BORED of listening to my music....
can you recommend your TOP TWO FAV songs of all time...... I am not fussy.... hip-hop to heavy metal.... |
1 Attachment(s)
Photek,
I know this is not what you asked for, but I had a lot of trouble giving you only 2 songs. As it appears from your request, you too believe there is a time and place for all music...but, I digress. Since I could not distill things down to two songs, I looked at some of the recently played stuff that I enjoyed, and took the liberty of providing 5 singles in a variety of genres (and a few albums that are in heavy rotation). Anyway, hope you find something inspiring to break your music rut. I look forward to seeing what other people suggest, so I can get some fresh tunes, as well. |
aha!..
seeker777... I have about half of the songs you list!... funny hiphop too... I had forgotton about WarrenG and Coolio.... did you ever buy any DoveShack?...Faith No More is a good call though... I hear Chris Patton is doing his own thing these days...Not to sure about Terrance Trent Derby though! :D thanks for taking the time... will check out the rest. have you heard Ian Brown - Keep what ya got?... gritty Manchester stuff.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-poXPaeBtc |
Additions to your collection
.
All right, here is some truly excellent music that may not be in your collection: "Mustt Mustt" by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (Massive Attack remix) "Song for Everyone", by L. Shankar & Jan Garbarek "Eight Seasons (Gaucci Jahkejuogu)", by Mari Boine "Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares" "Dolmen Music", by Meredith Monk "Songs of Devotion", Lakshmi Shankar "Ascenseur pour L'échafaud" and "Kind of Blue", by Miles Davis "Shostakovich: 24 Preludes & Fugues", by Keith Jarrett "Beyond the Missouri Sky", by Pat Metheny & Charlie Haden "Seven Pastorales" and "California Symphony", by Lou Harrison "Niafunké", by Ali Farka Touré "Astrakan Cafe", by Anouar Brahem "American" (complete), by Johnny Cash "Tabula Rasa - Fratres", by Arvo Pärt "Music for 18 Musicians", by Steve Reich "A Rainbow in Curved Air", by Terry Riley "Mozart Piano Sonatas", by Mitsuko Uchida "Black Album", by Metallica the classical stuff -- Frank Zappa Anything!! by Planet Drum ------------------------ Shucks I guess that was more than two. And a lot of them are, strictly speaking not songs... Oh, well. Enjoy! :) |
Oh no, not another one of these! I can hear the money flying out of my bank account and into the ITMS coffers...
If I was going to suggest two songs...hmmm...my two current favorite Heal Over by KT Tunstall Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake (yeah, I almost chocked writing it, but I'm an addict now. Once you listen to it check out PaxilBack on youtube...) But I'm not going to recommed just two songs (is it humanly possible?) But four more instead. All Time Faves - #41 by Dave Matthews Band Wake up by Rage Against the Machine. Coincidentally, those two acts should totally hook up for one kill concert... And lastly, to encourage diversity into the little known artists Lost in the Traffic by Neon Brown (Seriously good modern Jazz). Mighty Crazy by Lightnin' Hopkins (Seriously good old Blues). Other random bands, Goten Project, iChing, Keane, Propeller Heads, Jurassic 5, Slick Rich the Ruler, and "Simply Everyone is Taking Cocaine", a wonderfully dark satire done by Murray Lachlan-Young with Moorcheba on their "Get Mashed!" album. Okay, that was 7 songs and 13 artists, but still...it's shorter than a comprehensive list, eh? |

I warn you all ... I intend to buy at least 1 song from your listed recommendations!... so I will hold you responsible if they are crap!
Seriously though.... Stones... you rocker..! Metallica!... great album though... you ever get into any Megadeth?... they sound harsh... but they are very good.. Zalister... Sexy Back!?..... Hairy back :D |
I just got into a groove metal band called The Sword, and their album is called "Age of Winters" They sound like a sped up version of black sabbath meets helmet, and well they rock.
As far as Hip Hop goes, I just got the new El-P album and the new Brother Ali, both are great. The new Queens of the Stoneage is good too, Era Vulgaris |
Let's venture into the area of the "never heard"...
This guy graduated with me from Redlands, CA. back in 74. Fantastic guitar! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqQPpZ3EL5s His album Franco American Swing is brilliant! Here are a couple of exerpts... http://www.johnjorgenson.com/mp3/fra...01-FASwing.mp3 http://www.johnjorgenson.com/mp3/fra...ake_Waltze.mp3 http://www.amazon.com/Franco-America.../dp/B00023XGZG |
I'm always interested in threads like this. Hopefully I won't lured into spending a fortune on new music. The two song that most recently caught my attention are:
"Trio Per Uno - I" by Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic "Big Wheel" by Tori Amos I started to list some of my Desert Island songs (in no particular order) but could't limit it to 10, let alone 2: "Pain's Invention Madness" by Dark Angel "Precious Things " by Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes "Prayers For Rain" by The Cure "Rats" by Godflesh "Dear God" by XTC "Kerosene" by Big Black "I Am Stretched on Our Grave" by The Voice Squad "Jig of Life" by Kate Bush "Echoes" by Pink Floyd "Short Stacks" by The Ditty Bops "Varvulvan" by Garmana "Gravitate to Me" by The The "Hound Dog" by Big Mama Thornton so here, for those interested, are 101 of my favorite songs. and this this is a little plug for my youngest brother's band (he's the drummer). |
Two songs? You're kidding right?
Easy Star All Stars - Dub Side Of The Moon A reggae cover of Pink Floyd's classic Dark Side Of The Moon, this compilation album is simultaneously unique and faithful to the original. Quite possibly the best cover I've heard, this album is in some ways better than the original, which is no small feat. (The original stayed on Billboard's album charts for over 1500 weeks!) Bob Marley and The Wailers - Live At The Roxy Bob Marley and The Wailers - Kaya Roxy is my far and away my favorite Bob Marley live set. Kaya is my favorite Bob Marley song, and is the title track from a great studio album. I've found that while Bob Marley is a favorite of relatively few people, a very wide range of people find his music acceptable (they can listen to it without it bothering them), more so than any other artist or genre I've found. DJ Tiesto - Summerbreeze This album is perhaps my favorite live Tiesto mixed set. Genre would be electronica -> trance -> uplifting. In this genre, singles are raw material, and album continuity is important. Frank Sinatra - The Very Best Of Frank Sinatra There are many classic Sinatra tunes on this album. No large music collection should be without at least a little bit of Sinatra. Ganga Giri - Tribe Vibe This is a favorite album of mine in the world genre. Geto Boys - Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta This is a favorite track from the movie Office Space. Jimmy Buffett - Don't Stop The Carnival This album is like a musical for blind people. It's not typical Buffett but is true to his island style. It has a definite Caribbean flavor to it. Jonny Lang - Rack 'Em Up The pool player in me can't get enough of this blues track. M.C. Hawking -A Brief History Of Rhyme This is The Men - The Church Of Logic, Sin, & Love I'm not sure why, but I've always loved this single from 1992. It took me a few years to locate the CD, even though I started looking when it was new. Norah Jones - Come Away With Me This is a great album, but you can't go wrong with anything by this artist. Pato Banton - Don't Sniff Coke I love this track. :-) Queensryche - Operation:mindcrime This is one of the best rock operas ever, from the group once dubbed "the thinking man's rock band." The Refreshments - Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy This is just a great album. Highlights include Banditos and Down Together. Rob Wasserman, Jerry Garcia and Edie Brickell - Zillionaire This track is from Wasserman's Trios album. It's just a great song. Edie Brickell and The New Bohemians - Shooting Rubberbands At The Moon This is a great album from start to finish. Sublime - Sublime A classic with many great tracks. Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes Another classic, from a time when alternative actually meant "not mainstream." The best known track is "Blister In The Sun," which gets more airplay these days than when it was new. That may add up to more than a couple songs, but I tried to keep the list fairly lean. |
the new Beastie Boys album is one of my favorites...and it's only been out a month.
Their site has one video you can watch. YouTube has one or two others from the new album. All instrumental. great funk beats. |
Quote:
Elvis... I have never given the Beastie Boys much time.... perhaps I should... Sure Shot was a great record... but thats all I know of their stuff. capitalj.... I had almost forgotton about The Cure.... good call..... but Kate Bush?... she's scary! Anyone check out my Ian Brown link?..... play it loud... top tune.... do a search for Longsight M13... amazing track |

* I use the phrase "growing up" very, very loosely. |
Quote:
I used to not like Bruce Springsteen at all when i was growing up because my parents liked him, and when you are a teenager you hate everything your parents like. That is just how it works. Then I got older and wiser (if you can call it that lol!) and actually listened to the Boss one night and was like he is actually bad ass. My friend told me to listen to Nebraska from start to finish and then try to tell myself that the Boss sucks, and I did just that and when it was all said and done I was like, he is good. When I was a teen I was all about underground rock and punk, when I hit about 20 years old I just got into music and listened to anything that I liked. I don't think anyone can just be a metal head or a punk rocker anymore these days there is just too much good music out there. I do, however, digress there is also a lot of crappy music out there. I should have also added: Patsy Cline Dolly Parton June Carter I am sure there are tons more but my mind escapes me at the moment. |
One more song:
Body Count - Out In The Parking Lot / Cop Killer
It cracks me up that Ice T plays a cop on TV! :D |
Quote:
And yeah, the guy can (still) play pretty impressively. |
Tom & J Christopher... Elvis too....
Erick Sermon... Relentless.... defiantly worth a look.. and for those into Welsh HipHop (I use this term loosely)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv-2XYOtgCg |
Two songs was a very tough call but here are mine;
Take it with me - Tom Waits Trouble - Cat Stevens Of course this is merely what I could decide on out of my current iPod listing and neither track comes from my favourite albums which I've probably covered in your other recommend some music thread. Plus it varies hugely depending on my mood. |
Quote:
"Guns don't kill people, people with mustaches do!" Here is a link to a guy selling the shirt, classic http://www.ebay.ph/viItem?ItemId=190131874835 What other british hip hop can you recommend, I know I just heard some dude from France the other day (name escapes me) but it wasn't half bad. |
Quote:
I hope you mean Costello. :D |
LOL, I think he meant "...Elvis too..." to include me as one of the peeps who might be interested his suggestion.
Seeing as my name on this board is Fat Elvis...I guess it'd be easy to conclude I'm an Elvis fan. |

Ain’t never heard of them other two. |
RIGHT!
this weekend I am gonna go on a shopping spree on iTunes and buy a number of tracks from each persons suggestions.... I will report back with the findings! |
Photek
if you like groove metal, you will love the sword, man that album rocks the casbah |
Today's two
Lozenge of Love - Radiohead Warpigs - Black Sabbath |
I know I already mentioned stevie wonder but holy #%@)#)$*!!!!!
I never knew he could play drums http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4SCZv7...elated&search= Seriously this is sick |
cool!.... thats a very old clip eh!
On the music note.... TOM... can I recommend you buy a track...?... You may already have heard it..... BUT... go on to iTunes and buy "Arctic Monkeys, I bet you look good on the dance floor"... and then turn the volume up loud. If you don't like it I will post you a pint of ale as way of an apology. |
Quote:
all though its not strictly HipHop... check out 'The Streets'... he's kinda the UK answer to Eminem... 'turn the page' 'has it come to this' & 'could be well in' are worth a look. Kano is alright.... check out 'nite nite' produced by the same guy as above. thats not a very representative look at UK HipHop... but it gets almost no coverage in the UK... unless you go out of your way to search it out. Have you ever discovered 'Drum & Bass'?... its kinda a urban digital extension of Jazz... kinda :) ..... if your gonna check out any track of mine... look out for 'Star Chasers' by '4Hero'... truly amazing British Music... a bit like Jill Scott... but 10 years before she arrived on the scene. |
ALSO.....
Kings Of Leon... great band... just bought.... 'Freya' by 'The Sword'... sounds good... need to give it a full listen in the car on the way to werk. |
I have the arctic monkey's album already, I think Articstones recommended to me in a previous thread. Good album, nice solid rock n roll.
Who is the French Hip Hop guy who is blowing up now? I can't think of his name but I have heard his song from people and I think on a few youtube videos. Okay I had to scour both the interwebs and my memory but I found the youtube video I was referring to. The first song which is just beats is RJD2, a DJ from the US, but when the MC starts rapping a little after two minutes in, is the french artist I am talking about. I don't speak french, so I have no idea what is going on, but it doesn't sound half bad. I just hope the lyrics aren't about eating cheese and drinking wine, lol jk http://youtube.com/watch?v=aYRmnUGBVCw They drop the RJD2 beat a few times in the song too. The video is actually pretty sweet, some russian dude doing all kinds of crazy freestyle walking. Btw I prefer the underground independent label music over anything main stream so feel free to drop the Indy artist from Europe. |

Check out: Going Gets Tough Tough by Groovrider... nasty drum n bass roygbiv by Boards of Canada (actually Scottish)... very melancholy Appaloosa Travelling by LTJ Bukem... pots and pans beats Hotel Costes 4 by Stephane Pompunac (album) Cold Cut, Let us Play (album) the first album made entirely of samples |

Magic drumming!
Quote:
It’s group of world-class percussionists gathered by that ol’ Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. Their first album, same name, received a World Music Grammy in 1991 and remained at Billboard’s no. 1 spot for 26 weeks for the same category. Mickey Hart has also written a number of well-received books on drumming, which I haven’t gotten around to reading. With another group hw founded, the Rhythm Devils, Hart recorded the soundtrack for Apocalypse Now. If you’re really into percussion, check out Gamelan music. A friend of mine once described this traditional music of Indonesia in the following way: "Imagine a warehouse full of musicians and instruments, playing all the music that has ever existed. At the same time!" By the way, you can hear Gamelan music in the soundtrack of Battlestar Galactica, especially in the later episodes. On a different note entirely, check out Steve Reich’s "Music for 18 Musicians". Talk about suggestive trance music! |

I love the drumming on the old Black Sabbath tracks. Also some of the jazz drummers from the 50s like Philly Joe Jones or Jimmy Cobb are excellent.
|
I'm going to recommend some albums which may or may not be your thing:
Weezer - Weezer (Green Album) The Who - Who's Next VNV Nation - Empires The first two are rock/classic rock. The last one is electronic. |
The Who - "Who's Next"
One of the BEST rock albums ever made, in my humble opinion. I would put that right next to Yes - "Fragile" on my top 10. |

There is one band I have been listening to for a long time, since I was a kid in middle school. I think they are one of the most underrated bands of all time, or at least the most underrated band of this era. They are a punk rock band from Cali called NOFX.
They have funny songs, serious songs, and have displayed lots of talent over the years. They even did a song to the time signature of the wall by pink floyd and it is 18 minutes long called The Decline. They have been a band for over 20 years and have released countless albums, and there are many bands that have made it into the main stream and have totally emulated them and their sound. They even have the mexican springsteen, el jefe! |
tom... you ever heard any 'Snuff'...?
|
I have really enjoyed this exchange, although the leaning by many posters toward hard rock / metal has succeeded in making me feel old.:p
In order to control my iTunes habit, I only allow myself one $15 card per month, so I have had to be selective. Photek- I couldn't find much DoveShack to listen to, but I'll keep my ears open. Here are a couple you may enjoy. For hip-hop: "To All the Lovely Ladies (Radio Mix)" by Goldo from the Go soundtrack. For hard rock: "Jesus Built My Hotrod (Redline / Whiteline Version)" by Ministry. Toward the end of the thread, you mention a Hotel Costes album by Stephane Pompunac, do you have any Max Leonidas? I think "Because I Enjoy It" and "Cooling Off" is representative of some of his best work. Arctic Stones- I went with "Mustt Mustt (Massive Attack Remix)" I like exotic and remixes (and am a huge Massive Attack fan). How about: "Beloved (Thievery Corporation Remix)" by Anoushka Shankar, also try "Shiraz" by Sharif from the Putamayo collection Sahara Lounge. J Christopher- I went with "Time" by Easy Star All-Stars. Reggae and remakes, right on. Give this a listen: "Time is on My Side" by The Gladiators. Re: Norah Jones, do you have "Strange Transmissions (Chillout Remix)" by Norah Jones and Peter Malick? Also, M.C. Hawking...flippin' hilarious. I stooped to buying both "All My Shootings Be Drivebys" and "Entropy." fat elvis- If you like the new Beastie Boys instrumental album, do you have the first instrumental one they did in 1992, "The In Sound From Way Out?" With the exception of one track, it's pretty solid. Anti- I haven't bought any VNV Nation yet, but intend to find a tune to buy. Thanks for the lead. Search around for a tune you may like called "Voices" by Intermix (iTMS doesn't have it - not even the right group). Thanks again to everyone for their suggestions. If you post more, please provide a particular song(s) that you think is representative of an artist's best work (as opposed to an album or artists in general). Thanks again. |

I'm following this thread as well, because I need new music. My library has been sitting at a low 522 songs (Don't laugh, you guys with 100,000 songs). ALSO, for some AWESOME rock, check out Dragonforce. |
I am a professional musician by trade and I have to say I LOVE this thread, when I'm not at work next I'm looking forward to posting some of my favs in here!

Just bought the 'Peace Orchestra' by 'Peace Orchestra'... (Kruder & dorfmeister) and its a GREAT album.... everyone should buy it....!
if you get a sec... do a search for 'Meister Petz' off the 'Peace Orchestra' album.... its possibly the best trip hop song ever.... turn the lights off... turn the bass up and it will send shivers down your spine! I bought a bit of 'Nightmares on Wax' too.... :D also L.S.F by Mark Ronson.... phew.. what a remix! |
Cool. Heard some good stuff from K & D in the past but never got around to buying any.

If you like R&b id say bobby valentino's album special occassion is really good, Timbaland's album is also pretty good, it even has some rock and elton john on there. My 2 fav songs at the moment are The product g&b and carlos santana- maria maria, and hip-hop police by chamillionare Oh what speakers do you have, i have well you can see in my signature what i have, so i like base in my songs Notoriousthugs-notorious big Timbaland- the way i are Dead prez - hip hop And seriously try this eq it will work wonders http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?t=79905 |

Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out

I'm really enjoying a couple singles from David Gilmour's solo album: Raise My Rent, and There's No Way Out Of Here.
Photek - the link from your 1/14 post doesn't appear to work anymore, and I don't even want to ask how you found that Looking for my Leopard tune... Hey Photek - just spotted this thread.
So - just two eh? OK... Album: Milliontown Group: Frost Génre: Progressive rock Description: Band only formed for one album, superb sound, brilliant production, and some of the most astonishing prog rock you can hear. Some exceptional keyboard playing and percussion throughout. Album: Pentamorous Metamorphosis Group: Global Communications Génre: Ambient Description: Acknowledged as one of the best ambient albums of all time One more to listen to here, free: an upbeat electric guitar solo One of mine!! EDIT: forgot to add... this one... Sigur Ros, Brilliant Icelandic band playing Glosoli: watch this and you'll be mesmerised... I guarantee it. http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/band/disco/takk-glosoli.php |
MouthPiece-
First, I must say, Bravo! I am impressed with your tune. It just needs a name. About the video. It is mesmerising, but left me a little spooked out. Maybe it's because I don't speak the language? Were they set free with imagination...or set free with suicide? I don't know. Hope I can sleep tonight... RE: Global Communications. Thanks for the lead. I ended up buying a song they remixed: Space Carnival (Global Communications Remix) by Azymuth. RE: Frost. I liked what I heard, but the samples on iTunes were extremely different (e.g., some heavy guitar, some heavy piano). Do most songs have both? Please pick the two tracks you think represent their best work. Again, thanks for sharing your work. Cheers. |

Sigur Ros: that video is most certainly enchanting, and the music that accompanies it is truly wonderful eh! There are many discussions on different fora that attempt to depict what happened to the little boy at the end... me... it's the power of dreams and akin to the innocence of youth and they all follow their leader, happily. Global Communications: Great choice - they really are a superb 'take you anywhere when you listen to them' group aren't they...? I guess for me anyhow, that's what ambient music is all about, it allows you to go wherever you want to go. Shut your eyes, open your ears and just go...! Frost: I do agree that there is super a mix of keys and guitar, but hmmm, two from that album... OK... then I'd have to say these two, and for the following reasons being (sorry for showing here that I am a music geek head!!!): Hyperventilate: it's a full 7:32 instrumental comprising quite a wide range of progressive rock sounds, effects and time sigs eg: starting at 2:30 there's a nice prog rock piano in 7/8 that leads into a super eclectic guitar sound at 2:57 - again in 7/8 all overlaid with synth strings etc which gets a tad heavier with bass lines and heavier guitar, then lightens up again with a strat guitar before 4:00 in the section leading into a nice 2/4, then at 4:30 there's classic Tony Banks sounds (Genesis) in 6/8 with superb drum riffs and fill work until the guitar brings in the most brilliant section at 5:52 for what I consider some simply exquisite lead solo keyboard work in 5/8 Milliontown: 26:35 of superb modern progressive rock music. Full of all the sounds, rhythms, riffs and singing you'd associate with a classic prog rock track. Smooth flowing synth strings/flute effects, fantastic guitar solo's - weird but effective voice dubbing, awesome instrumental breaks (especially at 17:50'ish) - which gets better and better, 18:49 is awesome guitar overlay with synth, you think it's going to end, but to your relief the music keeps coming; 19:55 brings a subtle change in sound, still guitar but just as good, again you think it's ending but at 20:36 it is magic with a synth line leading to another guitar riff, and yet again you think it's going to end but carries on with superb underlying percussion and bass into 21:45 with such calibre of synth playing.... awesome music! Lastly - cos I am not sure you can purchase that track [milliontown] from iTunes without purchasing the entire album - I'd have to say 'Black Light Machine' - Starts with a repeating loop and vocal harmonies, but if you do get this one, have a listen to one of the best guitar effect solos I've ever heard (except Steve Hacket on 1976 live version of genesis, Carpet Crawlers) - it's in Amin and F#min and starts at 2:55 and goes on until 5:00 Apologies for being a music geek head, but it's just my thing!!! :) Enjoy...:) John |

Picked up Radiohead's The Bends and R.E.M.'s Automatic For The People today. Very solid albums, I'd recommend them both.
|
I listen to the radio bbc/1extra.

seriously good track by 'Reverend and the Makers'... 'Heavy weight champion of the world'...
funny, but very clever and concise lyrics and oddly set to a very homoerotic scene from Rocky! http://youtube.com/watch?v=bjYZluh41AE&feature=related |

I would recommend the new artist yelle.

Picked up (Okay, okay, downloaded as you'd say it in this age) Muse's HAARP and it is a very nice set of live performances.
Sadly as I didn't buy the physical copy, no DVD. :( |
(1) One bourbon, one scotch, one beer
(2) Bad Case of Loving You :D |
yeah... if u like Yelle , there is a compilation series you should check out called "Euro Club Hits" --
it's pretty clear that dance music is coming back around the world -- just check the recent big American hip-hop and R&B hits which are clear rip-offs of the european dance style..... here's the direct iTunes link to the "Euro Club Hits" series..... http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...Club+Hits+Vol+ |
The Extraordinary Ways album by Conjure One has moved into heavy rotation for me.
Conjure One is another project from Rhys Fulber (Delerium, Front Line Assembly, et al). |
Chris Morris - Blue Jam
If you can actually get hold of a copy of this album it will leave you amazed & confused, laughing and crying... a truly bizarre mix of great music and ground breaking comedy from one of the worlds most unique comedians... |
Roni Size - Its a Jazz thing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynzzp...eature=related
the beginnings of Drum & Bass.... from Bristol |
timbaland

Being deeply into GH for the past few days, I have some more music I like.
Less Talk More Rokk by Freezepop is pretty good. Thunderhorse by Dethklok is great if you like the metal. Though it is purely instrumental, I like Buckethead's Jordan. And lastly, another one that I like, That Handsome Devil's Elephant Bones. All of those, except Jordan, can be found on the iTunes store. I think you may have to use P2P or BitTorrent to grab Jordan, since it was recorded exclusively for Guitar Hero 2. |

Recommend some music
I might as well chuck in my suggestions. My top ten rated, which I go back to time and time again are:
Head home - Midlake Diamond day - Vashti Bunyan Mountain dance - Dave Grusin King without a crown - Matisyahu Levi Stubbs' tears - Billy Bragg My favorite things - Outkast Liar - Rollins Band I think I'll call it morning - Gil Scott Heron Pleasant Valley Sunday - The Monkees Damned for all time - from Jesus Christ Superstar You could also try spoken word. Depending on your taste in satire/comedy, I would recommend Henry Rollins, George Carlin and Bill Maher. Perplexed :D |
Harry Nilsson - Everybody's Talkin'
While I'm at it I might as well recommend the movie Midnight Cowboy that used it on it's soundtrack 'cause it's pretty funny. |
