The most stupid thing I have EVER seen.

seriously.......

http://www.zunescene.com/forums/index.php?topic=16115.0

what goes on in some peoples heads?..... obviously not alot!

Wee_Guy 06-13-2007 05:09 PM

Hmmmm....my theory is that: that symbol symbolises the Zune, so if Zune is a bad word in another language (i can't rember what that language is), then he is walking around with a bad/dirty word on his arm, and the fact that it was designed by mickeysoft/microsucks/microsocks/[whatever] makes it even worse.

At first when i saw the close up, i thought that it was B. Gates trying a new advertizing campaign, until i saw the one of the tatoo's owner.

Bill Gates could comfortably live inside that guy...

Now I'm curious, though - anyone have a tatooed Apple logo? beat a zune any day...

tlarkin 06-13-2007 06:41 PM

Having personal friends of mine that are actually tattoo artists, I can say it doesn't surprise me one bit. People get the dumbest ass tattoos all the time, and the tattoo artist needs money to survive so they are always like, thats cool man, it'll be $150 bucks.

I personally have no tattoos, but maybe get my irish coat of arms or something that would represent me. Definitely not anything to do with technology. i have seen people who have the Apple logo tattooed on them before

http://www.theapplecollection.com/Co...s/tattoo.shtml

so yes people in general are just stupid. Haven't you read any douglas adams? We all know dolphins are way smarter than people....duh

Jay Carr 06-13-2007 07:27 PM

My vote goes in for the mice actually :). I still need to read esoteric detective agency (correct my if I mispoke the title...)

One of captions on the apple collection site mentioned that a couple went on vacation and came back with Apple tats. I have to wonder, what's the story on that? Did a bunch of artsy geeks throw a serious keeger and, in the middle of the intoxicated confusion, decided that sickest thing ever would be to get an Apple tat? Honestly...

my irish coat of arms
got a pic of it?

I would never have a tatoo.... if I had one of something that meant a great deal to me 10 years ago... I would probiably have a Guns n Roses or Iron Maiden tatoo on my arm :eek::eek: ........and I cant think of anything else I would want less on my body now!

tlarkin 06-14-2007 08:07 PM

it looks like this, but there are several color variations

Definitely not as cool as a Harley-Davidson tattoo. :D

agnosticgod 06-15-2007 10:14 AM

I am sorry if I _WAS_ going to get a tattoo, which I am not, I definitely would _NOT_ get one of any technology company or device.

I think there are a million good reasons not to get a tatoo....

just imagine all those Gary Glitter fans that got tatoo's...!
D'y wanna be in my Gang?.... err no thank Gary!

trumpet_999 06-15-2007 10:08 PM

Ok, people are going nutz here over some nerd getting a Zune tattoo, but from the link that tlarkin posted (always quality links), apple fans go one step further into the realm of tattoo stupidity:

I mean....C'mon!!!

http://www.theapplecollection.com/Co...Apple-Tatt.jpg

specter 06-18-2007 06:42 AM

Well, I think that tattoo is a thing that you will definitely want to get rid of in several years, but шне is impossible to do that without any traces left. I have never had a wish to get a tattoo. And I don't understand some young people who make tattoos on their bodies - when you're aged it doesn't look that cool and modern!

Sherman Homan 06-18-2007 08:00 AM

Five years from now the Zune may not even exist, but that tattoo will! Even the guy's Apple logo is dated, it hasn't been rainbow colored in years.

cool thanks for sharing. Oddly enough I get random PMs from people who browse these forums asking me if I am related to so and so Larkin since its not a hugely common Irish name, but it is somewhat common. I always tell them my dad had 4 sisters and no brothers, so really my brother and I are the only Larkins in the family hehe.

Anyone seen the comparison section on Zunescene? Here's my take on it (crossposted from my blog)

Quote:

I always appreciate the time to tear apart someone’s false comparison. In this case, it’s iPod vs. Zune again, and the comparison is courtesy of http://www.zunescene.com/comparison/.

So let’s get to it here. The first issue mentioned is price and storage, both equal across the board. The next two issues tackled are Wi-Fi and filesharing. First off, Wi-Fi isn’t needed on an MP3 player of any kind. Sure, it allows for some potentially cool features, but the Zune just puts it all to waste. Why have something there if it’s not going to be used? Oh, and it puts an ENORMOUS strain on the battery life. Why send out files that are DRMed? What if you made them yourself? And the RIAA must be having a fit over that. Until the Zune can utilize the WiFi with some meaningful features, the iPod takes the first two points in this battle, and on Battery life as well.

So far, iPod: 3, Zune: 0

The next issue is Landscape/Portrait mode. I’ll admit that the iPod needs a better screen in which to watch movies on. However, if you like spending to the tune of $500, the iPhone will cater to your needs just fine in this regard. Otherwise, Zune wins on this one.

iPod: 3, Zune: 1

Next is that of an FM tuner. The Zune has this one as well, since the good ol’ Zune includes one standard. The iPod does not, and instead you must pay $50 to get an FM tuner for an iPod. Chalk up another one to the Zune.

iPod: 3, Zune: 2

Preloaded Audio and Video: You know what? I’m not going to tackle this one, since if you bought a damned MP3 player, you probably already have music you want to throw on it.

Next, Zunescene mentions a “preloaded virus”. Jesus christ on a fourwheeler, this one’s in the past. IMO, I think this is just a cheap attempt to make the iPod look really bad in comparison to the Zune. But I won’t side with either on that dispute.

Now we have one so frivolous, and it amuses me that these people attempt to use this as something to poke at the iPod. Colors. Yesiree, colors. Zune has white, black, crap-err, brown, and baby pink. iPod has just black and white. Who in their right mind wants pink? And who wants a zune that resembles a piece of crap? And we all know where MS got black and white.

And now, Scroll wheel/tactile control. This is sort of funny; ZS says that the iPod has a “scroll wheel” (Erm, click wheel), and no tactile control. The iPod does indeed have tactile control, in the menu, back, forward, and play/pause keys. Someone didn’t do their research.

Need I say more? The zune fails in comparison to the iPod. But if MS got their act together, they could potentially whip Apple. I doubt they will, but whatever.

I have an old friend (now an old man) who woke up on his ship after a shore leave (Navy) in Tokyo with two huge, brightly colored dragons fighting on his chest. His nipples were their eyes. He spent a lifetime swimming in a T-shirt, not thinking his tat projected the appropriate image for a prominent small town lawyer. Not too many folks ever saw it. I did, because as a college student it occurred to me to get a tattoo and he promptly dissuaded me.

You mean he was unconscious when they made this tattoo or what?
Shore leave - I think they had a good time there!

NovaScotian 11-23-2007 09:53 AM

After a long Naval engagement by the Canadian Navy during the Korean war in the early 50's, they had an R & R stopover in Tokyo. He (then about 18) went ashore with his drinking buddies for some drinks and an oil change. Next thing he remembers, he was in his bunk, sore as hell.

kimdburns 11-23-2007 11:45 PM

Ever see the movie Live Free Die Hard? The guy living in his mothers basement... I'm sure we can all make the connection. Don't get me wrong, I love my technology just as much as the next but GET OUT THE HOUSE!!! Really. Sunshine, does a body good.

Sumleilmus 03-13-2008 11:26 PM

It is NOT a tattoo

Whatever it is, it is not a tattoo. Specter says it looks to be painted. I agree.

The albedo is wrong for a tattoo.

It might even be "Photoshopped," a query I base on the paler appearance of the extraliminal skin.

Also, and not related or relevant (but that's the sort of thread this is), the individual in the photo linked to the first post in this thread has the most common genetic skin disorder, keratosis pilaris, inherited as an autosomal dominant.

fazstp 03-13-2008 11:57 PM

He still has it in the same position in this photo and was apparently flown to some MS thing on the basis of the tatt.

Oh, no . . .

Well, I looked at that link just above, posted by fazstp

When the first post in THAT thread says "Have the entire decortations in pink and orange" I think that what is meant is "decortications," or removal of the cortex, presumably the cerebral cortex.
