You could run XP via BootCamp (free, so long as you have an XP SP2 disk)

i dont understand that at all. will try the links. Thanks
BootCamp is free software from Apple to let you start up in Mac OS or Windoes XP. Only catch is that it has to be Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Photek 01-18-2007 05:42 PM

if it was me... which its not...

I would DL the trial of Parallels and install your copy of Windows from your old PC and see how you get on.

It looks like the beta program for Vista has ended, (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...y/preview.mspx) which means any legit options you had for DLing it have ended.

Enoy your new Mac before you dirty it up with Windows ;)

(I should say I DONT have Windows anywhere near any of my Macs and am certainly not knowledgable about Vista)

ThreeDee 01-18-2007 05:48 PM

Uhh...

This topic is bordering on the line of being locked.

Remember that if you run Windows on a Mac, you will have all the problems you had on your older PC.

For media files, there's VLC.

topebrown7 01-18-2007 06:50 PM

dont want to use windows anymore. far from it just want t update my phone. dont care if the option is legit or not just need to dwnload vista. ironically i could just install xp. but i dont want it to be that in future snyericsson will stp supporting xo and i will have to uninstall and install vista. No, we won't. So please don't ask again.

Photek 01-19-2007 03:38 AM

topebrown7..

If you need software for your Mac just ask!

You dont need to pay for everything.

- Flip4Mac and Perian will play almost every movie through Quicktime for Free. VLC is also good and free.
- NeoOffice or OpenOffice are great free alternatives to MS Office

what else do you need?
