Ben Grimm??

Edit:

Sorry for double post here, bloody internet went a little bit wierd and wasn't refreshing properly.

Jay Carr 02-03-2007 07:21 PM

No, not Ben Grimm. Only 19 questions left.

Just so you know, 20 questions is basically what we've been playing. Ask yes or no questions until you can figure out what it is.

(Ben Grimm...I think that joke flew over my head...*heading to wikipedia*)

After a quick visit to wikipedia...

Oh! Yeah, Ben Grimm, the giant rock thingy dude from the Fantastic Four. Should we really be calling him a thing? I thought he was The Thing, not just any thing :).

animal, vegetable or mineral?

Jay Carr 02-03-2007 07:27 PM

...I said yes or no, YES OR NO! Oh well, I'll give you one, but just this one, so don't get cocky.

None of the above.

tlarkin 02-03-2007 07:43 PM

is it alive?

Is it an mammal?

Jay Carr 02-03-2007 08:57 PM

Is it alive? No. 18

Is it a mammal? No, but I'll assume you wouldn't have asked if you'd know the answer to the first question, so we're still at 18.

Is it a machine of some kind?

That's a tricky question. It depends on how one defines machine. It has logical process, but no physically moving parts.

17 question remain.

schneb 02-05-2007 01:34 PM

Is it designed by Apple Inc.?

Jay Carr 02-05-2007 10:45 PM

No sir, not at all. 17 questions.

Sorry for the slow responses. If anyone wants to start a second riddle that would be fine, I'm not all my computer too much these days...

6502 02-06-2007 12:02 AM

Is it some sort of calculation device?

> If anyone wants to start a second riddle...

Dare I? ;)

Not unlike the tides
As they wax and they wane
My arms fly apart
Then together again.

It's the same every day
Without pause for breath
In a slow motion race
'Til the day of my death.

What am I?

Not strictly, no... 16 questions.

Sounds like quite the dare ;-). My only concern is that people will forget about mine. But let me give it a guess. My guess would be some sort of tropical flower...

> My only concern is that people will forget about mine.

I'll keep playing...

It's a thing that is not a calculation device, that has its own internal logic and that has no physically moving parts ... hmm...

Is its primary function dependent upon a program such as might be found on a chip in a touchscreen gps?

..

> My guess would be some sort of tropical flower...

Nope.

Jay Carr 02-06-2007 11:50 AM

No...maybe...I think. I worry I might have stepped in over my head. If what you mean is something to the effect of "does this 'thing' depend on a basic level programming language", then I am under the impression that the answer is yes. But again, I worry that I'm in over my head... 15 questions.

Okay, another guess for your riddle:

Is this thing in question alive at all?

6502 02-06-2007 12:53 PM

20 Questions...

> If what you mean is something to the effect of "does this 'thing' depend on
> a basic level programming language", then I am under the impression that
> the answer is yes

Does it ordinarily get power from a battery?

...

Riddle...

> Is this thing in question alive at all?

No.

Are you the moon?

No.

No.
