Yes it works in Jag up to Current 10.26
Yes it works in Jag up to Current 10.26:
And Jag is way better tehn 10.1x. Besides all the features the Archive and install Option alone is worth the Cost Of admission. You have the Option to: 1) Reformat Drive and Install (Yuck, Old way) *************************** 2) Archive and INstall presving user settings, home, dir, network settings, almost nothing to do except add printers. **************************** 3) Archive and INstall with out preving user setttings. IN Both cases you get Previous System Folder and a New System and Apps Folder. In the Former Apple Does a FAb job of copying Apps from Old Apps Folder to new and Copying all your settings files, Desktop, Dock etc. It works well In the latter, It is Truly Virgin if you want anything settings, or Apps from Old Install you have to Dag things around your self and some Apps will require reinstall. In both Archive Options: ALL your other Folders/Dir are preserved. ************************* I am supposed to Remind you to back up first, Your millage may vary etc:) Always a good Idea. I feel faitly confident in your sucess even with out doing so. And yet it is your Data so, it your rsik, not mine. |
Here's the fix!!!
This issue with this error is that the folder "/Library/Application Support/Palm HotSync" has the wrong privileges set.
Palm does have instructions on how to fix this error in Solution ID: 8354. (Actually, they quote a different error, but it is essentially the same problem). Basically, set the permissions to the above folder so that everything can write to it. Then re-run the installer... everything works like a champ after that... (that only took my 2 hours :-( |
