If you haven't seen it yet, the Daily Show clip with John Hodgeman is probably the funniest one.

I used to be a freelance designer in the states. It was my job to work on-site with various clients to create whatever print jobs they needed. I worked with dozens of different associations/companies/agencies/etc., some places used PC, so I had to use PC and vice versa.

I can tell you that the caricatures in these commercials are actually quite accurate. PC users generally have the traits of "PC guy" and so do the office spaces that they work in (dull, outdated, not incredibly intelligent). Mac users are altogether different and so are their workspaces (young… at heart anyway, colorful, up to date). The comparisons in the ads are spot on.

I have to ask...is there a reason why you center all your posts?

I always think my ad blockers are botching the page when i see your posts ;)

Sounds like a browser issue to me. If you are using Safari go to preferences, appearance, and uncheck the box that says "display optically confusing format data when page opens". Then reload the page and you're done!

He's triple indenting his posts, not centering. I asked the same thing some time back.

BTW, Long and Hodgeman have apparently signed on to make 20 more "I'm a Mac. I'm a PC" ads.

Cramps...

I look forward to that! They are highly enjoyable – the only danger being a risk of cramps in my jaw muscles from grinning too much.

By the way, anyone check out that old Sony Vaio commercial? :D

At least three new ads are now available at http://www.apple.com/getamac/
  • Accident
  • Angel/Devil
  • Trust Mac

ThreeBKK 08-29-2006 10:14 AM

Thanks for the heads up.
Trust Mac had me chuckling.
Kind of wish Mac kept the facial hair.

Pro "Christ Follower" commercials using the "I'm a Mac" format. They are very well done.

The best parody was on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, that had the actual actor as a "Special Correspondent" who, at some point, is forced to actually utter "I'm a PC". Hillarious.

PS. I hate that the "mac" guy looks like Keanu Reeves. I hate Keanu Reeves.

Sorry, I see that solipsism up there beat me to this comment. I didn't realize there were two pages to this thread. :o

I still hate Keanu Reeves though.

It looks like even Microsoft is using the "I'm a Mac" ad format. How many fallacies can you fine in this pro-Zune/anti-iPod propaganda ad.
