NOT WORK SAFE - OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE

Mikey-San 05-29-2006 08:51 PM

Um, if that's the clip it LOOKS like, you really need to warn people that it's not work-safe.

I repeat: not safe for work, due to highly offensive language.

Edit: Thanks. :)

V V V As long as it's labeled, I think you're good. God, that scene had me in hysterics the first time I saw it.

solipsism 05-29-2006 08:57 PM

That was the only clip I could find. If the mods remove it, then so be it.

The DVD that came with Mitch's final album has the uncut version of this. It's REALLY great, because you can tell the audience was just shipped in from off the street, and doesn't begin to get his style until the last 15 minutes or so. Mitch just starts firing off jokes left and right and it's hysterical.

Ok, here is a real masterpiece. I suppose it won’t have you doubled over in laughter, but it did have me grinning from ear to ear. Certainly one of the best adverts of its type that I have ever seen. Just click the link for "view TV ad".

solipsism 06-04-2006 08:07 PM

I'm not breaking nay new ground here, but Dateline just showed this and it's still funny. The throng of counterfeit videos on Google and YouTube deliberately trying to copy made it hard to find the original. Clearly an attest to it's value. So, without further ado, the NUMA NUMA DANCE.

I was just watching it for the 10th time and finally came to that conclusion too, Arctic Stones. The "do you want one or two" remark also coincides with that.

As much British Comedy as I've seen I still get hung up on the accent. I thought the Brits were supposed to speak the English 'gooder' than us Americans?

To me American and British comedy have always seemed worlds apart. It seems key traits of the latter are:
1.) an at times highly sophisticiated toying with layers of the meaning of words and expression, and
2.) an amazing ability to express something without saying it directly

A notable example of the latter is my favourite British political joke, voiced about a prime minister that I am sure everyone remembers: "She is now doing to the country what she hasn’t done to her husband in years."

PS. I liked "Mean Old Ladies".

Two Ls in "especiallly", not three.
Norfolk may strive for anonymity off the pitch, but the name should probably be capitalised.
And I believe "phone ins" should be hyphenated.

In light of the recent recent search and seizer at Sweden's The Pirate Bay, I am posting this South Park video clip.
South Park video on the wickedness of illegal downloads
note: I doubt that the uploader of this clip or YouTube themselves received permission to post this intelligent property from the owners of South Park. As well as, copyrighted material on Google Video and every single cached page on Google's servers. From my understanding, The Pirate bay keeps no copyrighted material on their servers and is in full cooperation with current Swedish laws. So tell me why we never hear about the MPAA or RIAA forcing the world's governments to close down Usenet, Google, MSN, Yahoo, YouTube and everyone else that is in direct violation. Is this a case of the lion attacking the weakest of the heard (i.e.: The one with the least amount of finacnial backing)?

disclaimer: I assume no responsibility for any copyright infraction that may occur by my posting of the above hyperlink. I assume that the afore mentioned uploader and YouTube would have thoroughly and properly researched any fair use rights, and that violations will be dealt with by the uploader, YoutTube and whatever overly selfish and shortsided organization decided to throw a tantrum while sucking their mums teet.

when people outside the US say 'only in America' they are refering to situations like this.

Someone told me the other day that a Winabago driver in the US had successfully sued them after he turned on the autocruise and went in the back to make a cup of coffee.... obviously he crashed and sustained injuries! But he sued them because it didn't state anywhere that autocruise didn't actually drive for you!!??... thats not a real story is it?

Apparently not...
For instance, in February last year, the Weirton Daily Times in Weirton, W. Va., published an editorial supporting tort reform and blaming juries for outrageous decisions in frivolous lawsuits. Among the examples was the story of an Oklahoma man who put his Winnebago on cruise control at 70 mph and "calmly left the driver's seat to go into the back and make himself a cup of coffee." Naturally, after the crash, the man sued Winnebago for not advising him of the dangers of cruise control. A jury awarded the man $1.75 million and a new motor home, the paper said. But it turned out that every one of the lawsuits mentioned in the Daily Times editorial stemmed from an anonymous email and was fiction.
(source)
...but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty that are real.

Photek 06-27-2006 04:10 PM

awww damn... that was such a funny story..

When I get time I will tell you the story about an ex college that got his penis trapped in a letter box. But for now I am gonna return to the football!

solipsism 06-27-2006 04:14 PM

The idea of a penis in a mailbox makes me cringe. Being an American, I may just sue you for emotional distress. What's your full name and how much money do you have? :D

CAlvarez 06-27-2006 08:49 PM

That cruise control story was around in the 70s or early 80s when it was just becoming available.
