Quiz question: If you were to visit the USA, and be able to purchase dirt-cheap gasoline over there, how many states would you be able to visit on a single tank of gas (petrol  ) if driving at maximum fuel efficiency (picking your point of departure and route as you please?)

The cost of the gas doesn't have any effect on the answer. That phrase is a throw-away. Cost will not change the number of gallons your car has capacity to hold, nor will it change the efficiency of your vehicle.

The answer can be as few as 1, or as many as 7 or 8 depending upon start and route traveled, as well as the fuel mileage your vehicle gets. You specified gas, so I'll figure you mean just an automobile. Had you allowed for diesel the number could be as high as 15. Think Semi truck. :)

Yes, but if you were not in "The States" then visiting the a certain number of "States" would be difficult to achieve, regardless of how much fuel your vehicle held, or any other considerations.

I refer back to titles such as "The World Series" etc etc. Wake up people.
