hi guys,
i changed the harddisk of an G4 12" ibook and now i wanna install a new system but it spits out all CDs without even trying to read them. what could be the reason for that?
i googled around the whole night and found like nothing ... i did a PMU reset but that didnt helped.
so hopefully i get some anwsers in this forum.

If your optical drive was working OK before you replaced the hard drive, you now need to recheck the cable connections inside. Check especially for bent pins where the cable plugs into the hard drive.

Do laptop hard drives usually have jumpers? If yours does, make sure it's set correctly. Of course, I'm not sure what "correctly" would be, but if DeltaMac's suggestion doesn't bear fruit this might be the next place to look.
