Does anyone know of a game similar to cs (NOT TAC OPS) which you can just buy as a package and you dont have to go through loads of complicated processes just to play the thing?!!:)
|
I've seen folks running Battlefield 2 using Bootcamp nearly flawlessly, faster than my Athlon PC.
As for VirtualPC, it's a dud with games. Are you looking to play CounterStrike, CounterStrike Condition Zero or CounterStrike: Source? The original CS and CS:CZ will run on a modest PC with nothing more than a GeForce 4600 and 512MB of RAM. Something like that might set you back a hundred or so with monitor+keyboard, on eBay. If you are even somewhato interested in playing a lot of games then I wouldn't skimp, might as well build your own from some of the newer parts out there, and then you can play just about anything you throw at it. |
Try Ghost Recon

It's got really decent multiplayer and great CO-OP missions. http://images.apple.com/downloads/ma...ghostrecon.jpg |

You could grab a copy of Quake 3 Arena from the bargain bin somewhere and install the Urban Terror mod.
My 12" 867 powerbook runs it quite well, not exactly the same as CS but very close. You might also like Return to Castle Wolfenstein / Enemy Territory although they are WW2 rather than modern, and do need a bit beefier machine than Q3 or UT. |
i have a intel imac g5 17". i just got parallels on it and i downloaded steam on it. it works yes, but every time i move the mouse its almost like it swrills. like the crosshair moves to fast. no its no the sensitivity. i had that ALL the way down, still did it, all the way up and still did it. so is it just cuz its windows on a mac? is that why it wont run good?

Sorry to bring this one back - but I am keen to get an indication from anyone that may know if STEAM is planning to release a Mac version.
I have a D-Core MacBook Pro with 2 gig and have had Steam running well on a Bootcamp install - Parallels is just too crappy. However, I have banished the windows partition but I am addicted to Steam DOD:Source. Is there a future for Steam and Mac? |
OK heres the deal:
The answer is YES you can play CS:Source on a MAC (propperly YES!) HARDWARE u need: An INTEL based Mac A decent Graphics card and over a gig of ram SOFTWARE: CROSSOVER With crossover you run the steam installation, log in, download CS:Source. Then you enter some startup atributes to the console, so it will run propperly. (Full screen doesnt work yet). NOW PEOPLE! no arguing! ive spent the last 4 hours playing CS:S on my mac for the first time, this is the shizzle... I got a mac 24" running CS:S at 1900x1133 (widescreen) Fps of 43 And... its awsome... GET YOUR HANDS ON CROSSOVER! NOW! They are doing free beta testing atm, go go go!!! |
I need help, I’m so close...
So I got Counterstrike and everything, but I don’t know how to go out of full screen or it’s all jumbled or something. What should I do?
|
In steam, you need to set the launch parimiters, check the forums on the official website, or check steam website.
