Naah... You can do some incredibly complex things with databases, but you can figure out how to do basic stuff without cracking the manual.

They're almost as simple as spreadsheets. (Of course if you waded into a conversation about pivot tables and visual-basic macros and conditional cell ranges, I suppose Excel could look frightening too)
