Where do you stand?

No comments needed just vote for fun.

I stand on my feet. What does that make me? :D

nkuvu 08-10-2002 06:26 PM

I stand in line sometimes...

AKcrab 08-10-2002 08:04 PM

I stand corrected.

mervTormel 08-10-2002 08:37 PM

i won't stand for it!

Eph. 6:13 - Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

AKcrab 08-11-2002 02:32 AM

I stand alone.

Probably no slot in Tulsa, either. ;)

what the hell do you think a "righto-leftist anarcho-syndicalist antidisestablishmentarianismist" is?

Treavize 08-11-2002 03:33 AM

but that's not an option in the poll. There are a few of us in Tulsa.

AKcrab 08-11-2002 03:47 AM

I wasn't poking fun. I'm registered independent, and that's not a choice either. I vote for the best candidate, regardless of party affiliation, and really can't classify myself into one category. Absolutely depends on the issue being discussed.

Note to self

Don't post polls whilst drunk.

I woke up this morning and read the thread, my word, I stand on my head ;)

I think my first thought was, where do the Macites sit in the political landscape. You see polls that say Mac users are "more intelligent", have "more money" etc. and it all sounds like a pile of dung.
Then last night, after stumbling back home, I was trying to search for an article by David "i was a black panther" Horowitz. I eventually found a tirade from the uber macfan Rush Limbaugh about advertising Macs on his show. Then I thought "hey, I wonder if I should poll those people at macosx hints......."

I do remember wanting to place a choice for libertarian (neo-con or anarchist?) and God, but I couldn't justify it, one deity or many. Paganism/Islam/Hinduism/Buddha or Sidartha/Christianity/Sikhism/Shinto/Taoism/Judaism/Scientology or the best of all, Deist. No offence.

I don't want to skew votes but I had a feeling that we would be on the extremes, and I expect alot of abstentions.
When I lived in the US having poilitical conversations was always fun, generally most people don't like to commit to a dogma and they're fed up with the political landscape in most of the countries I've been to, which leads to futility of one sort or another. People still suffer and die before their time and we're not allowed much of a choice.

Maybe philosophical polls are better?

Nah, we need 100 choices there.

I'm a Leveller, circa 1645.

Some of man's best insights have occurred while in an altered state (excepting maybe William Hurt's).

However, I think you may find you would need a unique response for each person in a question of this nature.

I'm a socialist and proud of it, but in this country it's allowed to be a socialist :D .

Thundarr 08-11-2002 02:40 PM

As an X-man, I apparently don't have one leg to stand on.

Were I a farmer, I'd be outstanding in my field...
