Sweet. :D About a third of my library is electronica/techno, and about a fifth of my library is video game music too (not rips though). Have you been to http://ocremix.org ? I have tons from there; a couple of friends of mine are trying to get every song on there. (The site has a torrent for all of them, so I guess it's not that hard, but I download them individually.)

The rest of my library is "normal" music though :) . My latest favorite thing is ska. Anyways, my library seems to grow about a gig every 2-3 months somehow... heh heh. No, actually, I have never used any P2P programs. Most of my library comes from CDs and legal downloads (which include songs from sites like ocremix -- they're made by people like you and me from scratch, and are posted there to download by other people to comment on).

MacTwist 09-22-2005 12:08 PM

yeah I know ALL about OCRemix I have over a hundred tracks from there. I like alot of the stuff, but not all so I do pick and choose 1 song at a time. I am a huge fan though and check thats site all the time. As for actual rips, I got a program by Richard Bannaster called Audio Overload which playes video game music files in spc and rar format. You can download VG music rips from Zophars.net if you are into that kind of stuff. Mega Man 3 and Secret of Mana have the best music IMO.

Other than that, Plastikman is by FAR my favorite artist. His forte is minimalist techno. But I love most electronic.

Oh yeah, here is my one attempt at a techno song. I made it myself :D

Cool -- yeah, I'm glad I discovered it. Actually, I just found out about the program Audio Overload last time I visited OCRemix (about 3 days ago). It's pretty awesome, they sound way better than MIDIs (which used to be the closest I could find to the original music). (Then again, just about anything sounds better than MIDIs...)

I haven't heard any stuff from Plastikman; is he on OCRemix? I couldn't find him. I'd have to say my favorite artist on there is bLiNd -- but not entirely because of his video game music (although it's all pretty good too). His website (www.thebrailroom.com, which seems to be down right now, hope it's not down for good...) hosts his original music pieces, and some (most) of it is the best trance I've ever heard. Especially this one song, which I guess he took off now (since it wasn't there anymore last time I checked). It's catchy and "flows" really well.

I listened to your song -- nice! I've made lots of GarageBand songs, mostly techno type stuff using loops, but really tweaking a lot of things with them. I also add other sound effects, such as thunder in this "Digital Thunder" song I made. :D Keep it up though, since I've found that each of my songs are usually not as bad as the last. I wish I could play the keyboard though. Then I'd really be in business... :D

2958 songs / 8:02:12:25 / 14.02 gb (most songs are 200+kbs mp3's)

Twelve Motion 09-26-2005 02:10 PM

Plastikman isn't from OCremix. Plastikman is the AKA of Richie Hawtine or... something like that. I am much more familair with Plastikman than I am with his real name.

Hogster 09-27-2005 04:19 AM

quality over quantity

Got around 25 Giga, the real question is the content of the files...

Best breakbit, Ragae, dub, R & B, house, funk, blues, Rockabilly, vintage rock...
What do you have? where do you get it from...? :)

Might be a slightly dodgy question for some people ;)

Personally mine is mostly from CD's and iTMS, but I have taken a few tracks off other peoples iPods and given them a few in return.
