I think that because we all choose to use Macs and not follow the rest of the Microsoft collective "drones", we automatically define ourselves as "not normal" in some respect.

Thats what makes us so special, so to some of us, it is easy to see it as an insult. :) :)

On a related note, most of you at one point or another have seen the Office for Mac Lemmings commerical from the '80s. I think it is funny Apple chose that theme for the commercial, seeing how Microsofts Windows software virtually enslaved the entire computer communtiy.

( Save the few of us, who didn't go for the GUI OS we saw on the market! )

Hmm, that post was about as out of left field as the commercial was! I've never seen that one before... I have to wonder what point Apple was going for with the early commercials. This one, along with the 1984 reference, are using pretty famouse references to say that PC's are for conformers (the underlying tone being that conformity is, of a necessity, bad). Kind of a "go for the throat" approach, it makes the current batch of commercials look downright polite ;).

Looking at the pictures on this thread...I dunno, it's just weird seeing what everyone actually looks like. We've got every age group and nationality it seems, though I've noticed this thread is lacking an entire gender! I know we have women who post here, don't we?

Anyway, thought I'd post a real picture. Besides it's been two years, and I no longer glow in the dark. So here's how I look now (with my wife Aubrey.) It's our engagement photo, from about six or seven months ago...

Nice one Zalister! Best pic in the thread. Congrats on the engagement, BTW. Where was it taken, geographically?

Ha ha, thanks Gavin. I suppose I should mention for anyone who has not already heard. I and that lovely lady are actually married now. We got married in December...one of these years I'm going to update my blog with some pictures from the wedding, maybe I'll post that when it finally gets done.

As for the Engagement photos. We had them taken in Little Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City in Utah. We were actually quite lucky. It had rained really hard the entire morning, and what was usually a dry river bed had become a roaring river. My wife (who is a fair bit more agile than me, owing to her abilities as a dancer) agreed that we should make our way out to a small rocky outcrop in the middle of the river. We managed that feat, and here is the photo that came as a result. What you can't see is that our feet are all wet... ;).

You've shamed me into it. Perhaps the other women, like me, are always hoping for a more flattering photo.
