I've found that many of the pop-unders are stopped if you install a flashblock in your browser.
http://flashblock.mozdev.org/ If anyone is using a Camino nightly build from March or later, they can install CamiFlash which does th e same thing as flashblock in Camino. Flashblock stops the pop-unders that appear when you load a page for some reason. You can see the pop-under blocked by flashblock in the top lefthand corner of a site that has these things. This does not however block the pop-ups that you get from sites when you click a link. |
For those of you that don't use a Mozilla browser (I myself use Safari), I find that PithHelmet solves the pop-under problem.
