Regarding the original post. How long does it take to get from zero to usable desktop on your machine? By that I mean not from a saved state, but from a competely shut down Windows. I just timed my PowerBook G4 1.25GHz 1GB RAM running 10.3.7 and Virtual PC 6 with Windows XP Pro and Service Pack 2, and it was just under two minutes from Windows start to when the taskbar icons are all present, the hourglass is gone, and the Start menu responds. All menus are very responsive.
