OS X Printing to CUPS
 
Hi,

I'm trying to print from OS X to my HP Photosmart on my Unix box.

I've configured the printer so it prints nicely under Linux via CUPS. From the web interface of cups I've noted the the uri is http://localhost:631/printers/PhotoSmart-P1115 .

However I can't recreate this uri in setup printers on the max.

In printer setup:

Printer Address: 192.168.0.4
QueueName : PhotoSmart-P1115

And then in the error log I get:
get_printer_attrs: resource name '/ipp/PhotoSmart-P1115' no good!

How do I get replace /ipp with /printers?

On your Linux box, enter into Terminal:
ln -s /printers /ipp
This will create a symbolic link to the printers folder.

I don't have /printers -- should this have been automatically created?

Solved by looking here and then editing the printers location in the cups gui.
