Kinda miss the little MacSmile though. Might have to put it back. |
I just went to my .mac online page and went to preferences in mail account. I had the photo box un- checked. I checked the photo box and chose a new photo and emailed myself. There it was, a new photo. Went back online and removed the photo and unchecked the photo box and emailed myself again. Still there. Does that help you guys?

That's too bad that removing it from the Address Book removes it from the Accounts Pane. I still want it there.

I thought following these directions after removing the photo from .mac mail preferences and not uploading a new photo would be the solution. Nope.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ TITLE .Mac WebMail: Updated Photo Signature Does Not Appear in New Emails Article ID: Created: Modified: 42987 2/25/03 2/26/03 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ TOPIC This document discusses how to clear the old photo signature from a Mac.com account that has had its photo signature changed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DISCUSSION Symptom After changing the Mac.com mail photo signature picture in WebMail preferences, new email messages still show the old picture. Products affected * .Mac WebMail Solution The old photo is seen instead of the new photo because the file that contains the photo is not being updated. The photo that is seen in the Mac OS X Mail application is stored on your computer. Delete this file to see changed photos from the sender. Follow these steps to delete the file: 1. Quit Mail. 2. Drag the file named "<username>@mac.com" to the Trash. It is located in this path: * ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.addressservices/Photos/<username>@mac.com 3. Open Mail. Email messages will now show the new photo signature. This document may be updated as more information becomes available. Note: Photo signatures are only available to full .Mac members or those who have a trial membership. Email-only accounts cannot send photo signatures. Have you removed the picture from your card in your Address book?
I know this also removes it from the login, and I will also guess iChat, but at the moment, this is all we have got. |
I removed picture fron address book long ago. I even deleted the vcard and created new one. I will use one of my alternative mac accounts as sender where the picture does not show up.

After you've deleted the picture from the Users panel in System Prefs (and the Address Book, if necessary), go to /Library/Caches. You'll see some files with titles like com.apple.user503.PictureCache.tiff. Find the tiff that matches the picture and trash it. Restart System Prefs, Address Card, Mail etc. Now, your picture will be restart to the default silhouette with the blue starry background.
I'm not sure if this is the solution that you want, seeing that it deletes the picture system-wide. |
The picture is not in any of those folders. I don't have a 503 folder. Should I? The picture was added on line at .mac mail in the preference window. Thanks...

Hello folks,
I found this thread through a search and noticed it's very old, but I was able to remove my picture by deleting my card from the address book. |
