Here's one potential way to deal with this if you don't want to change your email address. You can get a free Gmail account from Google, then it can be set to grab the email from your existing POP account and it can be set to send email from your POP address. Put simply, you would be using a Gmail IMAP account that grabs all your email from your POP account and your recipients still see and use your longstanding address. It's not hard to set up, but it is a lengthy set of instructions to write, so I'll save myself that time until you decide you'd like to go this route.

mac mail crashing,update

Prospect Join Date: May 2008 Posts: 32 Mac mail crashing update I've posted above regarding mac mail crashing on lion.Thought I'd post my findings/solutions etc. There seems two be two issues. The first is with POP accounts. If an IMAP account is not possible (as it wasn't for me,apparently) you can fool mail by setting up an account manually and selecting IMAP whilst leaving all other settings as they would be for a POP. The second issue, for me at least, was Addressbook. The error logs kept mentioning address book and having done a clean reinstall, faking an IMAP account and not importing anything into the address book I am finally able to send and receive mail. I suspect it is the fact that I am importing my address book as a Vcard which the latest version of mail/lion doesn't like but I'm guessing really and would be most grateful if anyone has a solution for this my final niggle! thanks in advance |
Thanks NaOH,I did look at that route but as I'm up and running now it's seems
unnecessary.I would like to import my old address book into my new one without the issues I've had? |
