Then you may wish to skip Marathon Man, with Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier. A great film, but the scenes where Dustin is strapped in the dentist’s chair and being interrogated by Laurence Olivier...

Come to think of it, that film may well have inspired the wrong people.

No, the sensation doesn't bother me, and I can't watch anyone else being needled either. I even look away from injection scenes in films.

My five year old daughter puts me to shame. Not a whimper when she had blood taken but I had to look the other way.

What about the dentist in Little Shop of Horrors?

I had to leave the room while my son's hand was sewn up. Just a couple of stitches. I don't think he's ever forgiven me.

I guess it's heartening that there are no yeses with regrets. I made the mistake of googling botched vasectomy.

While I've never had a vasectomy, my brother has. He swore by it; didn't like the idea of his wife on birth control pills forever, preferred a quick snip, you're done for life.

I was going to have one, then wimped out. Well, saved by the Doc actually. They have some strange medical preconceptions here in Thailand and the Doc told my wife that "your husband is a big man and big men do not recover well from this kind of op"... What a bunch of garbage! But I was saved and she got tied at the time of delivery. I think I owe that Doc a bottle of Scotch. ;) I do think vasectomy is basically a good idea though.

Maybe later?

I'm 33, and while I can recognize the reasons for it, I just couldn't, now. I know they can be reversed but I think waiting is best for a number of reasons that I'd prefer not to put into words at this time. My wife is a few years older than I and already got "fixed" when we met, so there's really no point.
