Sudden Restart

I'm not sure if this is hardware, really, but I figured it was close enough, since it's a physical thing. I was fiddling with a AA battery above my white 2006 Macbook, and I accidentally dropped it. It hit about a quarter inch below the gap between the space bar and the left apple key. And then, my computer just restarted. Clearly causal, but I was wondering if anyone knew a) Why and more importantly b) is this something I need to fix? It's really weird, and I'm a little nervous, but something similar has happened to my friends before. Any suggestions/help? Thanks!

Hopefully you haven't done any permanent damage.
Only time and continued use will tell I guess.
You could run Disk Utility and see if that reports anything.
My guess is that you have jolted the hard drive and the platters may have skipped a beat forcing the MB to restart.
