I have recently run into a probem using Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.1. I received everal PDFs that were created using Mac OS X. These files have standard fonts and symbols in them, however Adobe Acrobat reader will not render the symbols correctly. The files will open fine in preview. This a problem because preview does not have the search features that are available in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Has anyone else had this experience. I really like the ability to create PDFs using Mac OS X, but I want to be able to read such created files using Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of Preview.
