Sent my macbook pro in for repair and now I want to restore it from Time Machine. I reformatted the disk and did a restore, but now it seems to have lost my password (no, I never changed it). Is there any way in 10.5.5 to reset my password?

There is a Reset Password utility on your Mac install disc.

The same thing happened to me, and several other people.
I realize that it's easy enough to fix by booting from the install DVD, but seriously, that's the stupidest thing I've ever seen.
I'm extremely pissed off with Apple. Firstly, why don't they fix whatever it is that corrupts the password hash. Secondly, I never used to need a password to logon to my machine anyway, they decided to re-enable that after my restore. Thirdly, why is it so easy to get around a password?! Good to know I can break into any Mac with a Leopard disc....a-holes.
