More Printer Woes!

iMac 500, 386 mb, 2 partitions....1 with 9.2, 1 with 10.1.2, Epson Stylus Color 740

Everything was working perfectly and out of the blue today I cannot print in X! I get the Printing message which very quickly disappears from the screen, the Print center opens in the dock, but then very quickly disappears, and there's no printer response at all, and no error message.

I can print just fine when Classic is running. I've deleted all non-Epson folders from Library/Printers (Canon and HP), disconnected and reconnected printer...no luck there either.

Console message was as follows:

/System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PrinterNotifications.bundle/Contents/MacOS/makequeues: illegal option -- 7

Any assistance would be appreciated..but I'm a real newbie to X!

Can you open the Print Center (in Apps/Utilities)?
Is your printer still listed?
If so, can you print a test page?
Under Queue, can you select start? (As in somehow the queue got stopped)

I'm just guessing at some basics to check. Someone else may have a better answer.

AK....did as you asked, and sure enough, I was able to select 'Start queue', and away it went.......all 16 times I had requested it to print earlier!! That was easily solvable though. How does something like that happen? Did I overload it with asking it to print so many times?

Glad we fixed it!!
I have absolutely no idea what may turn off the print queue... I looked for keyboard shortcuts for start and stop, and there are none.. It's not an option when you right-click the dock icon... It's a mystery.
