has anyone watched the "Power of X" presentation from MWSF?

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/powerofx03/

during the QE part of the demo they use an app to toggle QE on and off to show off the compositing features "and stuff". where does one aquire that app?

running a seach through google provides one result (isn't that called something? what do i win?)

There are plenty of apps that detect if Quartz Extreme is running. Outside of the demo you are talking about I've never seen or heard of one that actually turns it on and off.

I remember watching a similar demo online, from Seybold San Francisco 2002.

That was the first time I'd heard about GIMP-Print and GhostScript. It was also interesting listening to Avie Tevanian saying over and over, "there is a performance penalty for Aqua."

As far as turning QE on and off, I think they even made a disclaimer in the Seybold demo saying something like, "You won't be able to do this, this is just something we use for comparison purposes."

If such a thing existed I'd guess it would be floating around in the developer community so that developers could use it for testing.

I read elsewhere that this app is available internally at Apple only.
