Hello

I have just installed Virtual pc 7 on my Mac G5 (os 10.5.2). Everything looks fine but for some reasons i cannot read any cds or dvds. Looking at the pc settings i cannot see any cd/dvd drive on the list. Anybody can tell me why virtual pc does not recognize the dvd drive from the mac and what can i do about it.

thank you

laurent

It isn't a VPC setting. The CD/DVD drive should show up in 'My Computer' in Windows. If it doesn't, you probably need to reconfigure Windows.

Thank you for your answer. It does show in my computer window but it is not working. It comes up with the message "no cd in the drive or format not supported".

Hello,

Your problem is not unique as I am having the same difficulty. I also have a G5 running OsX 10/5/2 and Virtual PC 7.0.3.

I see an icon for the DVD drive in My Computer. When I insert a CD into the drive it changes to a CD-ROM icon but I cannot access the disc. I get a message that the Disk is not formatted. The actual message reads

"Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."

I have Virtual PC installed with Windows XP Pro.

As a result, I can't install any Windows programs, which is what I bought Virtual PC for in the first place. Quite annoying.

Any suggestions anyone may have would certainly be appreciated.
