I am trying to print in Classic to a HP Laserjet printer directly attached via ethernet. Printing works fine in X (10.2.3) and in 9 (9.2.2) but not in Classic. I have narrowed it down to this:
1. When I print in Classic, PrintMonitor produces a print file in the PrintMonitor Documents.
2. However, it won't print the file because the job is scheduled to print 5 hours after the time set on the computer. I did not set this.
3. Hmmm, 5 hours is the difference between Eastern Time and GMT so I thought, what if I change my time zone in X to London. Sure enough printing works when I do this. Incidentally, I am on Atlantic Time (GMT-4h).
4. I have elimiinated HP printer drivers because the same thing happens if I setup the printer in Classic with a generic Laserwriter driver.
This problem is absolutely repeatable and survived a complete system reinstall.
