Well i'm just about to quit trying to get this laptop up and running. It's a Powerbook G4 15'' (1Ghz Aluminum). I've replaced the harddrive twice and both times it's loaded up good the first time, I install all the software and system, then when I restart it doesn't detect the drive anymore. Sometimes zapping NVRAM works, most of the time not at all. I've done a lot of fiddling in Open Firmware to little avail. So I have a few questions:
Would I need to replace the entire logic board to get this up and running?
If it is the IDE/ATA Controller Chip, would it be feasible to replace it?
Are there any Open Firmware commands I can run to force detection?
Is there anything I should try before I call it quits?
Thanks,
