Is this as easy as inserting the 10.4 cd and hitting upgrade??
Or would I need to uninstall and reinstall everything and basically start from scratch again???
Thanks

do an archive and install w/ user data saved.
also open disk utility and have it do a repair permissions and repair disk.

Actually, you should do the "repair" disk and permissions before you start.
Then do the archive and install.
Then, just for belt-and-suspenders, do the "repair" disk and permissions again after your upgrade.
These repairs are simple, only take a couple of minutes, and can save hours and hours of grief and frustration.
If you are absolutely certain that you have no problematic hacks, etc., then a simple upgrade instead of the archive and install will work just fine - your choice. Archive and install is much more prudent, IMO.
And, to beat a dead horse even more, it is always a good idea to have backed up your data prior to starting all this.
