Does anyone know of a good screen capturing program (video... not screenshots) that is relatively cheap or preferably free?

I use IShowU. It's $20, but the demo is available, although the demo puts the word "Demo" across the screen, which is a bummer.

Not free, but great and use by all the big shots. Snapz Pro
I know you are looking for free but just in case you change your mind. :)
Try Jing: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/25619

This just takes screenshots, right? I'm looking for a screencapture that records video. Maybe I just missed something when I looked at the website. Correct me if I'm wrong

Okay, so I tried Copernicus (had actually previously downloaded it but had forgotten), and I have a few problems. Is it just a general problem that when you record long videos or large screen areas, the program freezes up or crashes? It seems like it works really when when you record a small area for a small amount of time, but larger recording times and larger screen areas bring about problems. Am I just not giving Copernicus enough time to render or whatever?

When embedding jing videos... does anyone know how to resize? When I edit the dimensions in the embed code that they give me, it crops the video opposed to resizing it.
does jing capture sound?
I know that jing records audio input like a mic. I have a MacBook Pro, and it automatically is set up to record from the internal mic.

You're not wrong -- I didn't realize you needed audio captured as well. Good luck!

Thanks... I do appreciate the help!
If you want to use some program to capture video with high quality, I suggest you to use screen recorder, which can help you capture whatever happened on your screen, I always use it to record movie from screen (http://www.screenrecord.net/record-movie-from-screen.html) because it can record long time video, so I can enjoy the video offline. :D
C'mon. That's your seventh post and the fourth time you've linked Windows software, and the third time you've linked this specific software (earlier links here (http://hintsforums.macworld.com/showpost.php?p=629834&postcount=28), here (http://hintsforums.macworld.com/showpost.php?p=629389&postcount=5) and here (http://hintsforums.macworld.com/showpost.php?p=627993&postcount=10)). Seriously, don't spam.

Also this thread is from 2007 '<insert swear words here/>'.
And since then a free app to use is QuickTime Player.
