I have 4 computers on a network at my home. Filesharing through the hub seems to be slow due to osX. All computers worked fine in nine. They also worked fine between the computers running 10 and 9. However from 10-10 the transfer rate drops to 9kb/sec from 4-6mb/sec. I tested my quicksilver g4 867 with my imac 450 dv/se directly without the hub and that actually worked fine. I of course want to share files without disconnecting my internet and unplugging and replugging etc. Is it the way that 10 works with ethernet?? Anyone else having trouble???????

I also encounter similar problem.
The ethernet needs unplug and replug upon every system boot up.
File transfer through samba with my RH7.2 desktop is extremely slow.
I am running OS X on iMac DV 400
When I ifconfig -a, I got the following info:
en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,b6,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 192.168.0.8 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255

media: autoselect (100baseTX <half-duplex>) status: active
supported media: none autoselect 10baseT/UTP <half-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 100baseTX <half-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex>
Is "media: autoselect (100baseTX <half-duplex>)...." the origin of the slow transfer problem?
