Placing App in App Folder into separate folders?

Hello. I have too a lot of progams in my Applications folder. At times I don't know what they even do. I'd like to know if my system would be okay if I were to place separte folders for each type of program (Audio, Editing, Photography, etc). I know there are folders that should not be deleted, but I'd like to know if any of the preinstalled applications can be moved to different folders. Sounds dumb, but I'd like to double check before I start re-organizing.

You can put apps anywhere you want, with the exception of Apple's apps. It's best to leave them alone because Apple's updaters won't work on them unless they are in their original location.

I agree. I do this specifically just to keep my regular Applications folder pristine.
