i hate these headphones. Why can't they make the kind that don't have to stick in the ear? They always fall out.

Does anybody know of any other headphones that work with the iPhone?

Any headphones work (as headphones--not as headphones with a microphone simultaneously)--it's a standard 3.5mm (or, as it is typically known in the US where most are afraid of metric, an eighth-inch) jack.

The caveat is that the metal around the jack area doesn't allow a lot of room, and the majority of 3.5mm jacks have a wider flange than will fit. So, to make the majority of headphones work, you need a 3.5mm (narrow flange, male) to 3.5mm (female) "adapter". For example, here is Belkin's: http://www.ilounge.com/assets/images/reviews_belkin/headphoneadapteriphone/1.jpg

You can buy that adapter at the Apple Store, by the way.

Personally, I'm planning on making my own with a flexible cable in between the male and female sides. I don't like the inflexible design of the Belkin. I'll just need to find a good quality male 3.5mm plug with a narrow flange.
Edit: It looks like those great folks over at Griffin have read my mind--they've got pretty much the adapter I want coming soon: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/headphoneadapter/

It was awful nice of Apple to concider all of the accesorry designers when putting together their products .

I use the Sony MDR-EX51LP "Fontopia" phones, and they both fit and sound great. $40 most anywhere you can buy headphones.

I have a pair of B&O clip-ons. I discovered by chance that the jack has a rubber sleeve that can be slid off to reveal a smaller hard plastic jack just beneath that fits into the iPhone headphone jack plug just perfectly. So there's no fancy electronic stuff going on -- it's only that most other jacks are too big to fit the recessed hole.
