Can't Browse For iBook

I have a new iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo and a G3 PowerPC iBook both running 10.4.9. Until yesterday I have been sharing files and an internet connection between them via a crossover cable. I had the iBook mounted on the iMac when I got an error saying it had to disconnect. Unfortunately I didn't take note of the error. Now I am unable to remount the iBook and cannot see either computer when I browse the network from either side. Also the iMac can no longer use the network connection on the iBook. I have tried a different cable with no luck. I have personal file sharing and personal web sharing enabled. What could be wrong?

Ok, don't worry about it. I tried turning sharing off and on again and the iBook thought I was still connected. I rebooted and everything's back to normal.
